Our President, Mark Hylton, shares his perspective on our new Mission and Vision — and the impact they will have on how we move forward, together.

We are excited to welcome Edward, Harrison, and Michael to the team this summer!

Throughout their internship, they’ll have the opportunity to shadow multiple departments across our company, gaining valuable hands-on experience both in the office and out in the field. From project management and pre-construction to virtual design and construction operations, they’ll get an inside look at how projects come together from planning through ex*****on.

Edward, a rising junior at Clemson University majoring in Civil Engineering, is eager to learn how large construction projects are planned and managed from start to finish. Harrison, a rising senior studying Civil Engineering at the University of South Carolina, is looking forward to expanding his CAD modeling skills and visiting project sites. Michael, a rising senior and Mechanical Engineering major at the University of South Carolina, is excited to see firsthand how construction sites operate with so many moving parts and team members working together.

Join us in welcoming Edward, Harrison, and Michael to the team! We’re excited to be part of their professional journey and look forward to seeing all they accomplish this summer.

Since joining our team in Savannah last year as an Assistant Project Manager, Carlos has quickly made his mark through his leadership, dedication, and strong relationships with our partners throughout the Savannah and Beaufort area. From his contributions to the Charles-Craven St. Drainage and FLETC Brunswick projects, to many other successful initiatives, Carlos has consistently stepped up and delivered results.

We are excited to see all that he accomplishes in his new role and proud to have him on the team!

We are excited to roll out our new Mission, Vision, and Values! Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing what these mean for us and how they shape the way we work, collaborate, and execute projects on a daily basis as a team.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the heroes who sacrificed everything serving our country. Our offices will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.

Nothing beats a night at the ballpark with great people, great views, and even better company. Thanks to everyone who came out to our May employee event and brought the family along for the fun! ⚾ 

Congratulations to Tim Kaiser on his retirement! 🎉

After more than 25 years with Gulf Stream Construction as a Superintendent, Tim leaves behind a lasting impact across the Mount Pleasant and Charleston area. Some of his notable projects include the Highway 17 widening, The Shoppes at Seaside Farms, and numerous apartment complexes throughout the community.

Tim has been a dedicated and valued member of the team for many years, and while he will be greatly missed, we wish him nothing but the very best in retirement!

Tim’s final project with us was the Towne at Cooper River, near our office on Clements Ferry Road. A fitting way to wrap up an incredible career close to home!

We were proud to celebrate Tim with a special lunch alongside his crew to send him off and thank him for his years of hard work, leadership, and commitment.

The CW Blanchard III Gold Putter Award is one of the highest honors within our pre-construction team, recognizing individuals for outstanding project bids through monthly committee review.

For 2025, Chris Riffe has officially taken home the title for the most wins! His successful bids include standout projects like American Gardens and The Peninsula of Charleston, both of which we have proudly spotlighted over the past few months.

We are excited to see Chris continue his winning streak and hold onto the title through the rest of the year!

Our comprehensive training program includes OSHA 30-Hour Construction, 40-Hour HAZWOPER, and First Aid/CPR certification, all with rigorous examinations to verify competency. Team members don’t just sit through the courses, they actively engage with the material, pass detailed assessments, and demonstrate their ability to apply critical safety standards on every jobsite.

From hazard recognition and fall protection to hazardous materials handling, emergency response, and immediate life-saving first aid skills, these nationally recognized certifications ensure our crews are fully prepared to prevent incidents and respond effectively when needed.
