On June 11, 1991, American Public University System’s history began with the founding of American Military University.
Since its inception, the university has grown exponentially from 5 graduates in 1995 to over 100,000 students today.

Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 8am-10pm EST
Research consultations with a librarian will be suspended Monday, December 15, 2025 through Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Trefry Interlibrary Loan services will continue through the holidays but please note there may be a delay in turnaround time.
