One of the most common concerns I hear during dermaplaning consultations is:

❌ “Dermaplaning makes facial hair grow back thicker, darker, or faster.”

✅ Myth Busted!

Dermaplaning only removes vellus hair (also known as “peach fuzz”) and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Because the hair is cut straight across, it may feel slightly different as it grows back, but dermaplaning does NOT change the hair follicle itself.

Your hair will grow back:
✔️ The same color
✔️ The same thickness
✔️ The same texture
✔️ At the same growth rate

✅Avoid retinoids, Retin-A, tretinoin, adapalene, and other exfoliating products.
✅Avoid waxing, threading, electrolysis, or depilatory creams on the treatment area.
✅Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning.
✅Inform us of any recent cosmetic treatments, chemical peels, lasers, or medications.
