This wasn’t just a show. It was survival, art, music and alignment coming together on stage. A debut performance that came about by a nudge from a familiar presence.

MOSH for Mental Health held at 191 Toole in Tucson, Arizona was a benefit show supporting Casa de los Niños! We played as LocHJ2M. A one off name created specifically for this show. We closed out the night.

What makes this night truly heavy goes far beyond the music. Jonny2mics had his final chemo treatment for aggressive cancer just three weeks prior. Still dealing with intense side effects, he stepped on stage anyway. Pushing through it all to start the rebuilding process and reconnect with his passion of artistic expression through music. Awesome to witness the start of a comeback!

In many ways, this night was about reconnection for all of us. Jon and Loch performed together for the first time since the battle with cancer started. This was my first live show in over four years! I met a group of talented souls who aren’t afraid to put themselves out there creatively, emotionally, and unapologetically.

This was the same venue I met Jon backstage. That exact moment grief, music, spiritual alignment and healing were meant to collide. I felt guided to that show when Jon and Loch were playing with ATWB. It was to experience that unforgettable moment in my healing journey. The answer to the nudge I felt from my late wife Raquel.

Jon went out of his way dropping everything for a complete stranger. He had me follow him to his car and shared a personal song. It was exactly what I needed to hear and Jon knew that in less than 5 minutes of conversation. It felt like a message from Raquel encouraging me to pick up the pieces, channeled through Jon's music. Those were my thoughts. He sang along emphasizing the message. and I was the first to hear this work. When the song ended he shared that he felt like he was being channeled in the vocal booth while recording the song. 🤯

That night and this show brought that magic back full circle ✨🎶 Jon did something amazing for me and I am honored and humbled to be able to return what I receive. To be a part of this incredible moment in his recovery and rebuild after the fight of his life🙏

We never rehearsed together as a full band. This was the first and only time these songs were performed under this configuration. The odds were stacked from the start. We faced technical difficulties, including trouble hearing ourselves. A cymbal that crashed down on top of another but we pushed forward like we were meant to. No resets. Nothing was going to stop this set from happening.

The stage was turned into a living canvas. Justin and Keri created live paintings on stage while we performed. At the same time, we rocked white shirts and painted ourselves in real time, letting the music drive the visuals.

Practicing drums for my fist show in years. Reconnecting with my passion after some extensive healing. Song is “Become” by under the band name LochJ2M in Tucson, Arizona @ 191 Toole Saturday 1/17/2026. Still got a ways to go. Just learned the song, still need ro make it tight and spice it up a bit 🤘This was 2 weeks ago. Hope to do an update or capture the finalized version at the live show next week!
