We the People (Constitution Song) CONSTITUTION DAY IS SEPTEMBER 17!!!!! FREE NEW SING-ALONG VERSION OF "WE THE PEOPLE" FOR ALL PARENTS, EDUCATORS, KIDS AT HOME AND HOMESCHOOLERS, FIND IT AT W...
"The first ten amendments to the Constitution are called the Bill of Rights. Members of the Constitutional Convention wrote the Constitution in 1787. The original Constitution did not protect individual rights. Soon after, in 1791, Congress added the first ten amendments to the Constitution. The first amendment protects the freedoms of speech, religion, and assembly. It also protects the freedom of the press, and freedom to petition the government. Other amendments in the Bill of Rights protect the rights to a speedy and public trial, the right to bear arms, and the right to fair police searches."
"Democracy only works when people are active in the government. Voting is one of the best ways for citizens to participate in their democracy. But it is not the only way. We can also call or write letters to government representatives. We can ask questions about the government or share our opinion. We can join a civic group, a community group, or help with an election campaign. We can write a letter to a newspaper. Sometimes the newspaper will print the letter for everyone to read. Or, we can choose to run for office."

Increase in US Immigration Fees Announced t.ly/HVmY
“Starting Oct. 2, legal immigrants eligible to apply for citizenship will pay $1,160 if they submit their application online, or $1,170 if submitting a paper application.
Under the new fee, immigrants will pay at least $520 more to apply for citizenship. That is more than 80% higher than the current application fee of $640.
It's also the second-biggest jump in the naturalization application fee in history, analysts say.
Most of the fee waivers that allowed lower-income immigrants to apply for naturalization for free are also being eliminated.”
