Next counselor spotlight!

Miss Lydia is an absolutely wonderful helper to the kids! She is patient and kind and jumps right in to lend a helping hand. Not only is she helping with camp this summer, but she’s also learning how to create my balloon arches for birthday parties. She is just the sweetest and we are so glad to have her on our team!

Hi, my name is Lydia! I am going to into my junior year in high school and I am so exited to be joining the CU Create team this summer!

During the school year I am in my school’s color guard and drama department, and when I am not doing that, I am crafting! I love all kinds of art, from collages to clay and am not afraid to get a little messy. Hanging out with kids is something I enjoy doing and I am so excited for this summer!

You guys! I’m so sorry I haven’t been consistently posting. I’ve been so so busy! Camps, birthdays, softball, my own kids…. I’m going to try to be better. We’re moving into week 5 of camp, and I’ve still only posted week 1!

We’ve had so many amazing bdays this month, along with a new party option: Creative Science!

PS- We’re still collecting cardboard, so if you have any, please drop it off at the studio! You can even slide it behind a bench that’s sitting along the back sidewalk.

Without further ado. Here’s my next counselor spotlight! Miss Audrey T! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She has been such a huge blessing to our team, and I believe she is going to be the best art teacher ever! While she does plan to go away for college, I’m hoping she will continue to help out when she comes back to town for breaks. She is just the best!!!

My name is Audrey Tolbert, and I am a recent graduate of Central High School. I love watercolor painting, drawing, and ceramics. As well as art, I also love working with kids. Next year, I'm going to Eastern Illinois University to major in art education!

Counselor Spotlight #3! Miss Zoe is a bright light! She is warm, so good with the kiddos, quick to jump in and lead and always has a smile on her face. Her joy is infectious and we are so glad to have her on our team!!!

Hi! My name is Zoe Ruhlig! I just finished my first year of college studying early education and being a teacher’s aid at Judah Christian school. I’ve loved working with children for a long time now! From day camps to babysitting most of the jobs I have worked have been centered around children so I am thrilled to continue that here at CU Create! I’m so excited to spend a summer with some of your kiddos and also get an opportunity to be creative! When I’m not working I’m usually going on walks and runs or hanging out with friends! That’s just a little bit about me, hope to get to know you all more!

My next counselor spotlight goes to Miss Peighton! She is one of two counselors I have this summer that used to come to my camp when they were little. I am so happy to have her on the CU Create team!

Welcome Miss Peighton!

HI!!! My name is Peighton Joines, and I’m 16 years old. I’ll be a junior at Judah Christian School next year. I participate in volleyball, basketball, archery, and cheer, and I also love being involved in band and choir. I’m a student council representative and enjoy acting in our school plays. In my free time, I love reading books, doing arts and crafts, and listening to and singing music. If I’m not busy with one of my hobbies, you’ll probably find me with a coffee in hand. I absolutely love coffee! My favorite color is pink.
I also love working with kids. Last school year, I was a teacher’s assistant, and it was an experience I truly enjoyed.
