To make this official - Boris has been returned to us! A wonderful neighbor spotted him early Monday morning and kept him safe in her garage, returning him to us later that evening. He had been dumped by the curb near the intersection of our street and another.

While we’re still missing our Otto gravestone and a werewolf, we’re very happy that Boris has found his way home. We attribute his return to the incredible response we saw through all of you - and the awareness that brought which made him tough for someone to keep.

We had a wonderful Halloween night, with an amazing outpouring of support from the community!

We want to thank the U of I Journalism program for their segment, WCIA for the reporting they did, various other social media pages for getting the word out, Mark Orsted for hosting the ever popular Trick or Beer across the street, but mostly the neighborhood, the city community at large, and all of our friends (old and new) who came out to visit and enjoy our favorite holiday with us and each other.

Over 400 trick or treaters served last night, and a lot of folks who stopped by just to see the display.

Getting ready for tonight, and hoping to see all of our friends turn out! We know it’ll be a bit cold, but hopefully that doesn’t stop anyone from enjoying the Manor.

Please note - due to the recent events, we will be tearing down some time tonight after trick or treating ends. We usually try to keep the display up for a few days so stragglers can still see it, but we don’t think that’s wise this year.

So definitely make it out tonight, and we will see you all there.

Late last night, someone stole one of the large zombie figures from our yard (Boris). These are home made - not worth money - and are extremely heavy. But they’re part of a display that neighborhood kids generally enjoy greatly. They’re also very distinctive because of that uniqueness; you don’t buy these in stores. Meaning - you can’t just take this and put it in your own yard like, say, an inflatable. Please keep an eye out. This occurred on Barberry Dr.

If you have any information, please message us. No questions asked if he’s returned to us.

We have reported this information to the police.

Only a week and some change until Halloween! We’ve already got twenty four zombies prowling the yard, and the werewolves are howling at the moon. Still more to come!

While waiting for Halloween, why not spice up your weekend by visiting Champaign County's excellent haunted houses? Baldwin Asylum in Rantoul and Midway of Madness at the Champaign County Fairgrounds are both top ranked haunts in the state and are now open for business. Go get scared!

We attended the Midwest Haunters Convention in Ohio this past weekend. Had a great time, made some new friends, and got recharged for Halloween!
