We're working on restoring this large rose window rescued from University Place Christian Church before its demolition. All the petals are done, and now it's time to work on the body.

Outside the shop you might have noticed our new monument, this was part of the frame that held the window in the church.

We'll be posting more updates and showcasing more of the windows we rescued on our page, so be sure to follow us!

We're featuring another Dalle de Verre window today. This one depicts the Parable of the 10 Virgins. 10 maidens went to go meet a bridegroom with their oil lamps, but he was delayed. The 5 lamps of the foolish maidens were going out, since they did not bring enough oil, while the wise maidens had brought some extra. The foolish ones left to go buy oil, but when they came back, the doors to the banquet were shut. This parable is meant to show that everyone must be personally responsible and prepared.

You can see an example of an ancient oil lamp here. The main part would be filled with oil, and then a long wick would be inserted into the spout all the way so it soaks up the oil. The small part of the wick that was peeking out of the spout would then be lit on fire, providing long-lasting light.

16" x 35.5" in a protective display frame, available now for $700.
