So proud of our students in the HEAL Lab this year at our Department’s awards ceremony University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign psychology. 💙

Huge congratulations to Aadarsh Nair on graduating with honors from the Psychology Capstone Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His thesis, “Inheriting Inequality: Parental Internalized Heterosexism and Child Mental Health Outcomes,” reflects the kind of thoughtful, rigorous, and socially meaningful scholarship is the kind that we need more of in psychology!

Aadarsh will be heading to Tufts University to pursue a research-based master’s in Clinical Developmental Psychology with Dr. Fernando Salinas Quiroz, whose work focuses on q***r and ethnically minoritized families. I am so excited to see all that he does next.

Congratulations as well to Antonia Yuxin Hua, who received the Graduate Award for Excellence in Psychological Science and will be staying in the HEAL Lab as a PhD student. I am thrilled we get to continue working together.

And finally, congratulations to Jessica Chen for receiving the Frederick & Ruby Kanfer Community Action Award in Clinical/Community Psychology. Jess is technically still a rising senior, but already functions at the level of a PhD student in so many ways through her leadership, initiative, and commitment to community-engaged research.

So incredibly grateful to be part of their journeys!

I didn’t celebrate my 150th publication because I missed it.

By the time I checked, it was already 151 😅

It is easy to focus on the next deadline, the next paper, the next project, and forget to pause. So I did just that today.

Grateful for my family (cake providers and co-eaters), and for the mentors, collaborators, students, and mentees who have been part of this journey.
