Meet Rupert, the biggest chonk in town. If you want a dog who will improve your social life, THIS is the guy. He wants to say hi to every single person and animal he sees when he is out and about. He might even be cat-friendly with proper intros.

He is the epitome of “never met a stranger.”

Speaking of his walks, Rupert is on a fitness journey, so if you want a walking accountability buddy, HE IS YOUR MAN! He loves, loves walks and is easy on leash. He was adopted as a 55-lb dog and came back at 92 lbs. 🦛 And he still identifies as a 55-lb dog. 😁

Rupert is SUPER dog-friendly (see pix and vids in comments), serving as the resident dog-tester for his foster dad who boards other dogs. He’s a star at daycare too! 🌟

Besides trying to squeeze his fat butt into your lap, his love language is tennis balls. He LOVES them but also doesn’t guard them from other dogs. He plays well with others, and totally respects the resident queen bee 👑 when she fills her role as the fun police.

In short: Rupert is pretty much perfect.

He's in foster for LifeLine's Community Animal Center in metro Atlanta.

You want to help dogs living in your local shelter but can't or don't want to foster or adopt? Borrow a dog! All LifeLine locations in Atlanta--and many other shelters and rescues--offer dog day out programs. Dog for the Day and Weekend Warrior (a sleepover any nights of the week) are LifeLine's programs.

Dogs who get out for 1-4 hours are 5 TIMES more likely to get out alive (adopted or rescued). Dogs who spend at least one night out of the shelter are 14.5 TIMES more likely!

Why?
- It's like your weekend--the dog gets a reset from shelter stress.
- The dogs gets seen out and about with Adopt Me gear and may meet their person.
- You get cute pix and video of them, which helps with marketing.
- Most important: the notes you give on how that dog is away from the shelter are GOLD for matchmaking. They also help with updating bios.

Your outing doesn't have to be elaborate. A walk off-site and stop for a pup cup. Run errands if you're going dog-friendly places (hardware stores, drive-thrus). Lunch on a patio or an indoor dog-friendly place.

A simple lunch outing tells us how a dog is:
- getting in/out and riding in a car
- on leash
- meeting new people (they will at least meet the server)
- patio manners
- food motivation
- how gentle taking treats
- reaction to other dogs/kids/men if encountered

And you'll have a blast to boot.

Imagine if Rip Van Winkle were a puppy—waking up to find a whole new world. That’s Rorschach.

This guy is a big, goofy 1 yr-old puppy who lived in an apartment with a family with no car, so his world was veeeery small. Now that he’s in foster, WOW, everything in the world is new to him.

And he LOVES it! ❤

He’s in foster on a small farm south of Atlanta with lots of other dogs and he is HAVING A BALL. (See video 🤣) He’s like a black version of Scooby Doo—all flailing and scrambling. He would love another playful dog in his forever home.

In his first home he lived with 4 wild young boys—and all the rough and tumble play and handling that involves—and has always been the sweetest boy. 🥰

In short: Rorschach (Rory??) is the ultimate family dog in search of his family. Is that you?
