I did some fun designs for my kids school! Not sure the Angels fans at the school are too happy about it though 😬 I think I’ve found my niche: school spirit wear šŸ˜…

Deep thoughts by the great

Ya know? Sometimes I get to work on stuff that’s out of my comfort zone and it kinda works. Did this for my kids’ school PTA. I had fun even though really colorful stuff is not always in my wheelhouse.

We are no longer living the dream. Those who have been following along know my story. And this image is less a sign of despair than it is a call to action. We can’t let the dream become a nightmare.

This has been one of my favorite projects to date. The concept was to inspire people to share about their Story and what God has done in their lives. So the concept of the art was different panels that show some kind of specific aspect to being a Salvation Army soldier. .trinasander did all the animation work! And it’s amazing!

And I worked with many different vendors for the booklets for the weekend, the clings for the windows and the banners. This was a real challenge in illustration but I loved every second of it. Also, the font is custom to the event. This is the second time I create one specific for an event.

I loved the different projects I had to work on! Like chalk signs, banners, book layouts!!! All so different and so fun!

There are so many more photos I want to share but we’d be here ALL day!!!

I’m so proud, and thankful!

We have the faith. Let’s move mountains of hate, racism and hypocrisy. Let’s replace them with monuments to equality, kindness and love for our fellow human beings.

I originally posted this image in 2020. We all remember that year: the Pandemic, Social Economic Disruption, George Floyd, a presidential election, protests and demonstrations… And I remember this feeling of sadness and despair as I saw the US and all that was happening with the eyes of a child born to immigrant parents who came seeking the ā€œAmerican Dreamā€. And I remember SEEING with my own eyes the racism and hate that was stirred up as events unfolded through that year.

It is 2025 and I see more and more people come out and show their racism and hate, emboldened and with new fervor. It’s disheartening. But I still hold on to hope. My hope and prayer is that there are still enough kind, loving humans out there willing to stand for those who need the most.

Caption from 2020:
I was 11 months old when my parents fled from El Salvador and the poverty there seeking the ā€œAmerican Dreamā€ for their children. A dream of prosperity, equality, acceptance. I know my family wasn’t the only one. Many have before us, and since then been seeking the same dream. It’s with much sorrow and anger that I’ve seen the ā€œdreamā€ become clouded by hate, racism and ignorance. I don’t hate this country, nor am I ungrateful. But I’m unhappy with the system, with its leaders, and with the attitudes of hate and racism that have spread like a thick fog and are still very much present (in 2020, really?!).

I’m hopeful. I’m hopeful the fog will clear. I’m hopeful for my children, the sons of immigrant parents seeking a dream. I’m hopeful for my black brothers and sisters. I’m hopeful that we will see justice.

2025 has been chaotic. How many years into 2025 are we in?! Let’s remember to take care of our mental health. Take a breath. Care for your mental health.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 4:6-7

The concept of peace that surpasses understanding is a trip! Basically, it’s like ā€œyou’ll have peace even when it doesn’t make sense!!ā€ Pretty relevant to how things are going, I think.

Hi! šŸ‘‹ It’s been a while since I last posted any original content. Life has been busy. In 2023 I received a promotion at work to Senior Graphic Designer, we welcomed a baby girl to our family, and our boys have gotten bigger. So… it’s been great, but also very hectic! This morning I picked up one of my old brush pens and quickly dropped some letters while my mouse (thanks ) lay upside down on my desk getting a much needed charge. How are you today?! Let’s re-connect.
