Yesterday, we celebrated our 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony, an exciting milestone for our students as they prepare to enter Middle Grades at The LC.

While they may only be moving one floor up, they are taking a big step forward in their academic and personal journeys. As they look ahead to new opportunities, challenges, and experiences, many are feeling a mix of nerves and excitement, and that's exactly what comes with growth.

Congratulations 5th grade students! We are so proud of all you have accomplished! Your next chapter at The LC is just beginning.🎉📚✨

Yesterday, we celebrated our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony and honored an incredible group of students as they take their next steps into high school.🥳

We are so proud of the confident, thoughtful, and capable individuals they have become. Throughout the ceremony, student speakers reflected on how The LC has been more than a school, it has been a second home. They reminded us that some of the most meaningful lessons came not only from books, but from learning with and from one another.🫂

As our newest alumni begin this next chapter, we want them to know that The LC will always be part of their story. Our doors are always open, and they are welcome to come back and visit anytime.

This is not the end, it’s simply another beginning. Congratulations, Class of 2026!
We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.🎓💙

Our 5th Grade Egg Drop Extravaganza was a memorable day of hands-on learning, creativity, and innovation!🥚This STEM-based challenge put students' engineering, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills to the test as they designed and built structures capable of protecting a raw egg from a drop from the Jenks Park Tower.

Using only recycled materials, students worked collaboratively to create unique solutions and put their designs to the ultimate test. This experience showcased the power of perseverance, creativity, and real-world learning. 14/15 eggs survived the drop! What an egg-cellent way to bring STEM to life!♻️✨

Our 5th grade students in Ms. Genesis’s class celebrated Juneteenth with an interactive classroom experience honoring the history, significance, and traditions of this important holiday. Through student-created presentations, their classmates and other teammates learned how Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and Black culture.❤️🖤💚

Students also shared the meaning behind Juneteenth traditions, including the symbolism of red foods and drinks, and welcomed guests with a photo booth, stickers, temporary tattoos, books by Black authors, and red-themed treats. We are proud of the thoughtful learning, creativity, and leadership our students demonstrated while helping our community reflect, learn, and celebrate together.✨

Before the World Cup kicked off, The LC hosted a match of its own: Team Members vs. Middle Grades Students!⚽🔥

The energy was electric from start to finish, with commentators calling the action, cheerleaders bringing the spirit, elementary students lining the sidelines, and plenty of soccer talent on display.

The students thought they had us, but after a thrilling back-and-forth battle, the match ended in a 3–3 draw.
That meant penalties, where Mr. Tutu stepped up and sealed the victory for the teachers and team members! 🏆

Students, you tried your best, but you’ll have to try harder next time.😉

From gods and heroes to laughter and magic, The LC Theater Club’s Myths & Magic performance was one to remember!🎭🏛️

We loved watching our Middle Grade students step onto our Outdoor Classroom and Stage and share their voices, creativity, and joy with our community. Through humor, storytelling, and a little mythological mischief, they brought their characters to life with confidence and heart.🪽

Bravo to our young performers for making the ancient world feel wonderfully alive, and for reminding us of the magic that happens when students find their voices and let them shine.✨
