Through martial arts, we develop students who are not just great warriors, but leaders with great character, through the principles of justice and courage

On the surface it seems to be a Martial Arts School - and YES, it is that. But it is so much more. It is a place where a person's body is forged...their mind strengthened...their spirit lifted. A place to learn how to defend oneself and those that cannot defend themselves
A place to challenge yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. A place to take the ordinary and make it extraordinary! A

Gi Yu Dojo Annual Seminar in Centerville

Photos from Gi Yu Dojo's post 06/09/2026

This year’s annual seminar was incredible.
We had students from our dojos across multiple states come together for a full weekend of training. Several brand-new local students jumped right in, learned some powerful new skills, and made new friends along the way. Even a few of our kids’ class students came to learn new skills.
Our seminar explored unarmed fighting techniques for overcoming larger or stronger opponents, naginata (spear) methods to build coordination and timing, and live sword cutting to test precision and proper movement.
Congrats to Mindy C. and Chad W. for passing their purple belt exams.
A huge thank you to Sensei Sukh Sandhu for teaching and inspiring all of us. Yet another great seminar to help the members of our community learn how to keep themselves safe and be better people.
If you have ever thought about trying martial arts, for yourself or your child, now is the perfect time to check us out and start your journey. Visit our website www.giyudojo.com for information and to sign up for a visit.
