Unfinished vintage quilt…stay tuned this will be fun. About 1/2 the blocks were hand pieced.

I feel a little bad, I started by taking the blocks apart and the unfinished binding. It’s currently 5 blocks by 6 blocks but I want a little more symmetry so I’m thinking it needs an odd number of blocks in both directions. I’m going to try very hard to finish it without adding any new fabrics. So far I will have to piece at least 1 of the pink squares. There is some backing fabric, but it’s not enough for what’s there, so I’m going to need to get creative with that too.🤞🏻

The first pic is the start of a new commission. The customer was married 12 years ago, and they had guests sign fabric squares, but there was never a plan to quilt them…🤔
So she brought them to me & since it’s the 12th anniversary we are incorporating silk with the batting (which has been backordered for 3 weeks🤬). The next two I didn’t manage to take any more pictures. I modified patterns for skiers in the mountains and the last is fabric from the guess how much I love you book.i have been blessed with some very lovely quilters who do beautiful piecing!❤️

A commission. The customer had a traditional tshirt quilt made but didn’t want that, wanted patchwork. Mostly t-shirts from a daughter that passed away but 2 of her mom shirts-for surviving daughter. Since I really relate to this, as a surviving sister, the message is the sun shines even in the darkest places the light is still there and it’s ok for life to go on.❤️ she loved the quilt

I think it’s been in the air. This was a customer quilt. The person that started it passed away & her friend brought it to finish. She is not a quilter but had great instincts. There were 2 rows done but no pattern. 😳

And of course, she’s all done and ready for pickup
