Our brand-new stage is UP, and our first cast to perform on it had another wonderful full day of rehearsal in the merry old land of Oz!

The cast has clicked their heels and headed home for the day, and now the real behind-the-scenes magic begins. We’re loading in sound, lights, and all the theatrical sparkle needed to transform our new space into a 3/4 Thrust Stage theatre for this weekend’s 4 performances of The Wizard of Oz!

Independence Week Closure Reminder!

Pickering Academy will be closed from Monday, June 29 through Sunday, July 5 for our Independence Week Celebration.

We hope you enjoy a wonderful week with family and friends, pets, BBQ, fireworks, sunshine, rest, adventure, and maybe even a little well-earned laziness.

All regular programming will resume on Monday, July 6.

Our brand-new modular IntelliStage system has officially arrived — a full 640 square feet of stage magic — and it even showed up a day early during today’s Wizard of Oz rehearsal!

And in true Pickering Academy fashion, the excitement was instant. The Munchkins who weren’t rehearsing the scene at hand jumped right in — completely voluntarily and with huge smiles — to help load in, unbox, and welcome the very stage they’ll be performing on this weekend. 🧡

There’s something pretty special about watching young performers help build the world they’re about to bring to life.

This weekend, that stage becomes Oz for four magical performances — and we cannot wait for you to see what our campers have created!

Leapin’ lizards! We’ve got BIG news from the PACE Center main stage and Pickering Arts & Entertainment!

Pickering Arts & Entertainment is proud to partner with Parker Arts to bring sunshine, song, and Broadway magic to the PACE MainStage with Annie in Winter 2027!

We’ve been sitting on this exciting news for months, and we can finally share it: Annie is coming to the PACE Center main stage!

Executive Producer and Music Director Michael Pickering and Director Amy Pickering could not be more excited to bring this timeless, heartwarming story to life for the Parker Arts community.

With its unforgettable characters, beloved songs, big-hearted humor, and message of unapologetic hope, resilience, and chosen family, Annie has inspired generations of audiences — and we cannot wait to share this magical production with you.

From the streets of New York City to the halls of Warbucks’ mansion, this production promises to be full of joy, heart, laughter, and the kind of theatrical sparkle that reminds us why live theatre matters.

Day One of our Wizard of Oz Summer Camp is officially underway, and seeing our campers learning, laughing, creating, making friends, and filling this brand-new space with imagination was truly something special.

This new Pickering Academy home is more than just extra square footage. It means more room to dream, more room to perform, more room to gather, more room to grow, and more opportunities for our students, families, staff, and community to experience the joy of the performing arts together.

Today felt like the beginning of a beautiful new chapter in the Pickering Academy journey — one filled with music, theatre, friendship, creativity, confidence, and a whole lot of happy.
We are so grateful, so excited, and maybe just a little emotional. 💛
