Coming to Bachtoberfest at the Amana Festhalle Barn tonight? Here are some things you should know.

• This concert is INDOORS at the Festhalle Barn. Seating is provided by the venue. Please be aware that the barn is NOT climate-controlled. If it is cold outside it will be cold in the barn.

• You can find the Festhalle Barn next to the Amana Colonies Visitors Center located at 622 26th Ave, Amana, IA 52203. The actual address for the Festhalle Barn is 4707 220th Trail Amana, IA 52203, but GPS can occasionally struggle to guide you there. If you are having trouble finding the barn we recommend locating the Visitors Center first. We will have signs to help guide you to the concert from there.

• Parking for the event is located at the Visitors Center, with overflow parking available across the street at the Market Barn. There is no street parking in Amana.

• The Amana Historical Sites Foundation will have a bar open to purchase alcoholic and NA beverages during the event. OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS NOT ALLOWED.

• You are welcome to bring your own food. There are several restaurants in Amana that do take out if you don't want to pack your own picnic.

Coming to Bachtoberfest at Brucemore tonight? Here are somethings to know.

• This concert is OUTDOORS on the Brucemore West Lawn. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on.

• Due to changes in Brucemore's policies, NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL is allowed on the grounds for this event. Canned adult beverages, sodas, and water will be available for purchase.

• Picnics are welcome but make sure you take everything with you when you leave.

• When you arrive, make sure to use the LINDEN DRIVE gate. The First Ave gate is exit only. Once you are on the grounds, head to the west lawn next to the house to secure your seating area.

• There is some parking on the Brucemore grounds. If you are attending with friends, we recommend carpooling to save space. Staff will be onsite to help direct you to the parking area.

• Overflow parking is available at the Bradley & Riley PC parking lot next to Brucemore.

• There is a short walk from the parking area to the performance area. However, the Mansion’s circle drive can be used to drop people off if needed.

Come to the Paramount Theatre - Cedar Rapids on Saturday, October 17th to watch the Orchestra rehearse for their concert that evening!

Welcome to Friendly Face Fridays! Each Friday we are sharing one of our amazing musicians, so you'll always be able to find a Friendly Face in the orchestra.

Meet Michael Van Ryn, Associate Principal Bass.

Double Bassist Michael Van Ryn joined Orchestra Iowa in 2013. He attended the University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, and the University of Southern California. He served one year as principal bass in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and was principal bass of the American Youth Symphony for two years while in Los Angeles.

Music festivals in which he has participated include National Orchestral Institute, Pacific Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, Castleton Music Festival, WaBass, Twin Cities Bass Camp, and two summers at Le Domaine Forget de Charlevoix.

Bachtoberfest is BACH this weekend!
