Today, we celebrate the successful return of the Artemis II crew, a historic step forward in humanity’s journey back to the Moon. 🌕

Over the course of this 10-day mission, Artemis II achieved several critical milestones:

🌟 The first crewed flight of the Space Launch System (SLS) and Orion spacecraft.
🌟 A record-setting journey beyond the far side of the Moon, reaching farther from Earth than any mission before.
🌟 Validation of deep space systems, including life support, navigation, and communications, essential for sustained lunar exploration.
🌟 A safe return to Earth, proving the end-to-end mission architecture needed for future crewed missions.

More than a mission, Artemis II represents momentum. It builds directly toward Artemis III, which will return astronauts to the lunar surface for the first time in over 50 years and lay out the groundwork for long-term exploration, and eventually, missions to Mars.

We are incredibly proud to support this next era of exploration. Our team’s contributions are part of a broader effort enabling the technologies and systems that make missions like Artemis possible.

As we welcome the Artemis II crew home, we also look ahead to Artemis III and beyond. 🚀

Practice drives progress, and progress in human spaceflight is earned long before liftoff. 🚀

Through rigorous ground-based testing and training, Stellar Technology is proud to support the missions that push those boundaries, including Artemis II. 🌕

In collaboration with our prime contractor partners, our team contributes to simulation efforts that prepare astronauts for critical moments, like today’s manual piloting demonstration aboard Orion.

As we continue supporting Orion and future lunar missions, we are excited to help shape what is next in human space exploration.

It takes a planet.

On day 7 of Artemis II’s journey, the Stellar Technology team has been reflecting on what it takes to achieve a mission of this magnitude. It’s not just one organization; it is a global effort powered by dedicated engineers, scientists, and innovators.

We are proud to be part of the network of contractors and technical experts who have spent nearly 20 years helping bring Artemis II to life. Our team members across the country have contributed to critical elements of the program, from the Space Launch System (SLS) that launched the crew, to the Orion capsule they now call home for the journey, to the simulation and training that prepared them for this first-of-its-kind mission.

We are honored to have played a role in a mission that is carrying astronauts farther than ever before and helping launch the next era of space exploration. 🚀 🌍 ✨

Day 6 of Artemis II here, and today marks one of the most pivotal moments of the entire mission.

As the crew travels farther into deep space, they have entered the Moon’s gravitational sphere and are preparing for a historic lunar flyby. Here is today’s agenda and timeline.

⚫ A Record-Breaking Lunar Approach: 1:56 p.m. EDT

The crew is closing in on the Moon, setting up a multi-hour flyby that will take them within 4,000–6,000 miles of the lunar surface. This maneuver will also push them farther from Earth than any humans have ever been, breaking the previous record set by Apollo 13.

⚫ Far Side Observations: 2:45 p.m. EDT

As they pass behind the Moon, the crew will capture imagery and scientific data from regions never directly observed by humans, including key geological features on the far side of the Moon.

⚫ Communications Blackout: 6:44 – 7:25 p.m. EDT

One of the most defining moments: a roughly 40-minute loss of signal as Orion moves behind the Moon, testing autonomy, resilience, and mission readiness in deep space.

⚫ A Solar Eclipse to Conclude Observations: 8:35 – 9:32 p.m. EDT

In a remarkable finale to the day, the Artemis II crew will witness a solar eclipse from deep space, as the Moon eclipses the Sun from their extraordinary vantage point.

At Stellar Technology, we are proud to support missions like Artemis, delivering the specialized engineering expertise required for humanity’s return to deep space. As Artemis II pushes the boundaries of exploration, it is innovations like these that are helping pave the way for a sustained human presence on the Moon and beyond. 🚀
