This morning Vista Ridge senior Bruce Fowler was received a "Texas 31 A-Lister Award" from the 31st Congressional District Representative, John Carter. This honor comes from volunteer work Bruce has completed for Pilots N Paws. Bruce is a mission pilot and pilot representative for the organization. Pilots N Paws connects volunteer pilots with kill shelters to transport animals to non-kill shelters, saving animals from euthanization and providing transportation for needed medical treatment. Bruce was also asked by the organization to serve as a Pilot Representative and speak to some of the 200,000 visitors who attend the Sun 'n Fun airshow, which he did in April.
Bruce has his private pilot's license and flies both plane and helicopter for these missions.
In addition to the visiting dignitaries, friends and neighbors, several of Bruce's coaches and teachers, his counselor, and an assistant principal were there to celebrate the occasion. Way to go, Bruce!

We are thrilled to celebrate 9th grader Hailey Wood's accomplishments as a Feature Twirler.
While representing Vista Ridge at the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble competition she earned a division one rating and named as an Outstanding Performer! Only 6 twirlers in the whole state earned this designation, and Hailey earned it as a freshman!
Hailey is also ending her year as the 2025 Junior Grand National Twirling Champion! This title is was earned after a 3 round elimination event at the National Baton Twirling Association’s National event last summer. As the Junior Grand Champ she has spent the last year traveling the USA hosting and performing her UIL routine in exhibition at State & Regional championships all over the country, so it was extra special to be able to represent VRHS with that routine at TSSEC!
Great job, Hailey!
