Rising K Ranch

At Rising K Ranch, we want to take you on a horseback experience that you will always remember! We get all kinds of visitors from all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia- and the rest of the world!

For those of you who are here visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, we want to teach you some basic horsemanship skills before heading out on the Utah trails. The exact trails we use, as well as the speed at which we will travel, are dependent upon your experience, fitness and ability to learn. Sometimes we hit the trail at a lope and head for the highest, steepest, most rugged peaks we can find to overlook the Southern Utah mountains and valleys; and other times we simply take it easy at a nice walk and enjoy the horses and scenery at a slower pace. It all depends on what you are ready for!

For those of you who live close to Cedar City, Utah, and are able to visit more often, we want to give you and your family similar experiences, but with the possibility of ongoing lessons we would like to teach you further horsemanship skills. We want to teach you that pulling on the reins is NOT how you stop a horse, that your legs and seat are the most important factors in riding, and that the possibilities of what you can do with a horse are endless if you will only learn to gain a horse’s trust and communicate with him, working with his mind and natural horse thought process rather than just pulling and kicking him. Moreover, we want to teach you how to speak the horse’s language.
