Now is a good time to start thinking of enrolling your high school, or school district, in the Linux Club. Enterprise Linux Professionals offers free Linux curriculum for all high schools and colleges.

The Linux Club

We have been contacting every school directly about The Linux Club. So far, most of the schools that have shown an interest are only able to use the free version (which any school is free to use). Since our resources are limited, we are calling upon parents, students and community members to help this program spread to all high schools and colleges by sharing this with any teachers, students and parents you know.

Moving forward, we will prioritize contacting the schools you tell us about. The way we will know which schools to contact will be through the notification we receive of a donation ($5 or more) toward that schools Linux Club subscription. Enterprise Linux Professionals is sponsoring The Linux Club. Donations can be made here: (http://www.enterpriselinux.pro/ #!class-registration/c1d6v).

This will help us initiate a conversation with the school that community members have expressed an interest, though donations, that they want to promote Linux education at their campus.

If just 20 students participate in The Linux Club at a school, the retail value of that subscription would be over $145,000. Right now, early enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year is only $3,000 (40% off). Program details can be found at http://thelinuxclub.com.
