Oyster Shell Scale, most commonly found on Ash, Aspen, Cottonwood, Lilac, Poplar, Elm, Willow, Cotoneaster, Rose, & many other trees/shrubs found in the landscape. Best time to treat, is in the Spring before leaf out, with a Dormant Oil Spray.

Well, we hope that everybody has got their yards safe, now, from that horrible storm. Still lots of clean up to be had. REMEMBER, although you may have cleaned up the mess on the ground, had help, from family, friends, & neighbors, don't forget to have a Certified Arborist inspect your trees for hidden damage or weakening. Also the trees should be trimmed up where damage occurred, to give the trees a chance to regrow properly and minimize the stress level on them.
