We’re excited to welcome Talya Buitendag to the HIGHFILL team! She joins our Columbia office as an Administrative/Project Assistant, bringing valuable skills and support to our projects. We’re looking forward to all she’ll accomplish!

Fun fact: Talya grew up in South Africa!

We’re excited to have Nicole Bonilla-Cruz continuing her internship journey with HIGHFILL! Nicole, a rising senior at UNC Charlotte studying Civil Engineering, first joined us last summer and has remained part of the team throughout the school year.

We’re thrilled to have her with us full-time again this summer and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes! ☀️

Happy World Environment Day from our cleanup crew! We’re grateful to have spent the day helping keep our coastline clean and beautiful.

A big thank you to NC One Water for hosting the event and to the Surfrider Foundation for organizing the cleanup efforts and providing the tools and resources that made the day possible. Events like these make a positive impact on our environment, our coastline, and our communities.

Looks like our summer intern in Cary, Owen Recavarren, is already off to a strong start with a field visit! 👷‍♂️

Owen joins HIGHFILL as a rising senior at Virginia Tech studying Civil Engineering, and we’re excited to have him on the team this summer.

Our latest Lunch & Learn was a great one! David Wolf walked the team through the fundamentals of wastewater treatment with biological nutrient removal, giving everyone a helpful refresher on the process.

It also doubled as a cross-training opportunity for our administrative staff – always a win when we can learn from each other and grow as a team!

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.

We teamed up through the Adopt-A-Waterway program to clean up about a mile along the Saluda River Walk - helping keep our local waterways beautiful and healthy.
