Bright Futures - Carthage

How do you make a Bright Futures Coordinator cry happy tears on a Friday afternoon? Deliver her 2 pallets of yogurt!!

We now have shelf stable yogurt cups, from Backpack Yogurt, for our weekend snack packs!! 2 pallets equals 8,736 cups of yogurt. Which will last us about half the school year!

❤Did you know that the YMCA Youth Activity Center serves FREE DINNER to anyone 18 and under EVERY WEEKDAY from 4-5pm? 400 S. Maple St. Just one more way we are making sure our students have plenty to eat!🍽

Students 5th grade and under must be accompanied by an adult. Contact Fair Acres YMCA if you have any questions!

When the $15 backpacks are on clearance for $3, do you buy them all? Yes, yes you do!! Never too early to plan for next year! 💙🩶💙

We had a great first week of packing snack packs! 503 bags will go home with students, full of food for the weekend! We have the best volunteers too!! Many hands make light work!💙🧡💙

It’s starting to get real that we are beginning our snack packs next week! If your Carthage student needs a weekend food pack, please reach out to their building counselor to get them on the list! We send home food for students every weekend. The program is available for PreK- 12th grade.

Thank you to the ladies from the Americold Transportation Department for the donation of socks and underwear for students in need in the Carthage School District. Its amazing when local businesses support school and our students!

School Supply Pick Up is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12th, 1:30-3:30pm, at the Bright Futures office, 800 Grant St. This is for anyone who did not get their backpack picked up, or for those that were not on the list Sunday. See you Wednesday afternoon!

Don't forget! Backpacks with school supplies are to be picked up tomorrow, Sunday August 9th, from 5-6:30pm at TheBridge A Christian Church, 800 Main St, Carthage. We are excited to see you and can't wait for a great 2026-27 School Year!!

*If you are unable to attend on Sunday, you may pick your backpacks up Tuesday, August 11th or Wednesday, August 12th, from 1:30-3:30 at the Bright Futures office at 800 Grant St.

Thank you to everyone who donated school supplies or monetary donations to help us get ready for our Back Pack Giveaway. We have over 540 students registered to receive backpacks on Sunday. Thank you to the Internal Audit Group at Leggett & Platt, CWEP, Pennington Wines, G3 Entertainment and Community National Bank for hosting supply drives or collecting supplies for us, too! Many hands make light work, and Carthage....you make our job a breeze!
