Bar 85 Stock Dogs

I expected a job out west and can’t take all my dogs so I have to thin them down. I’ve got (5) 6 month old pups and a couple older dogs: a 2 yr old male that is very lightly started and a 3 yr old female that I’ve raised pups out of that has an incredible handle and is moderately strong to both ends. Absolutely heart broken, upset, and mad at myself. Lost one of my best friends, Fuzz, just before noon. Freak accident. He and me alone penned more unbroken cattle than most folks pen with 3 dogs. He had the hardest bite I’d ever seen and could catch and flip a 400+ pound calf. He had a rough life the 2.5 years I had him. Had a leg cut off at 6 months and would still gather and pen large number of unbroke pairs by himself. He was a once in lifetime dog. I’d tell folks what I did with a 3 legged dog and they would not believe it till they saw him do it. He was the sweetest dog and most personable cattledog I’ve ever owned.
I buried him by a pond as he would swim every day ever when it was 18 degrees 2 weeks ago.
I wish I would have collected semen off him when I had the chance. I had 2 young females come In heat but they hadn’t proved theirselves on cattle yet so I didn’t breed them. Now I wish I would have.
Good thing I got 3 young dogs, they got big shoes to fill.

This is a 12 month old female at is Triple bred Tony. I really like her, can’t wait to see how she turns out in a few months. She has a lot of presence, style, and confidence. She will walk right into pressure and hold her ground. Very little backup in this pup.
