On March 16, 1991, 15-year-old Latasha Harlins was taken from us over a bottle of orange juice, and justice was denied. Her death was a stark reminder of how Black shoppers—especially Black women—are too often criminalized in spaces where we should be respected.

For decades, we have poured billions into an industry that doesn’t always pour back into us. That changes when we choose to invest in our own—Black-owned beauty supply stores that see us, value us, and serve us with dignity.
