A fun evening tonight! Started with the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada’s 33rd Annual Luau and Fundraiser and finished with a fundraiser for Station 227 South Valley Volunteer Fire Department in Washoe Valley. Pictured here with Rob and his wife, Loretta, who both volunteer to keep the residents of Washoe Valley safe from fires and other emergencies.

There is an Alan Jackson song that starts with, "Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day?" I remember exactly. Like it was yesterday. My husband had gone to work. I was home with our sons, who were 4 and 2 at the time. He got partway up our street and turned around. He came running into the house and told me he'd heard on the radio that planes had hit the Twin Towers. I immediately turned on the TV and watched the horror.
At work later that day, I remember we were all just walking around in a state of shock and disbelief. I think there was one office TV where we tried to get the latest news, but the reception was spotty at best, and we couldn't learn much. It was like time stood still that day.
The patriotic pride that followed that terrible day was something to behold. For a while, anyway, we put aside our differences and came together as Americans. It seemed like every house, car, and business was flying the flag. It was beautiful.
Last December, my husband and I visited New York City for the first time and went to the 9/11 memorial site. It's hard to describe the enormity of it and what our fellow Americans went through that day, and what some have continued to live through every day since.
It's been 25 years since that tragic day. I pray we never forget and that we each take a moment today to reflect on the lives lost and how we can all do our part to make this country a better place to live because of their sacrifices. May the Lord bless them and keep them, and may He bless all of you.

What a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
Spent some time Sunday afternoon at Cellar 8 in Carson City, where statewide and local candidates gathered with local voters for a well-attended meet-and-greet.
Yesterday, Labor Day, I got to walk in the parade in Virginia City with Governor Joe Lombardo, the and the . Afterwards, there was another candidate meet-and-greet at the Delta Saloon. So much excitement in the room!
Let’s get out the vote and vote Red up and down the ticket! Our state’s future depends on it.

Sending a thank you to Assembly Minority Leader Gregory Hafen (Gregory Hafen II) for coordinating last night’s Assembly Republican Caucus and Candidates get together at the game. Even though the Aces lost, it was so much fun to see everyone and hear about their ongoing campaign work to hold and flip as many seats as possible in the Nevada Assembly.
Posing here with Minority Leader Hafen, Trista Gomez (candidate for Assembly District 30, https://votetristagomez.com/) and mascot “Truckee”.
