Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs

Greetings TRTER runners and friends of TRTER. We are exactly one month away! And we are a full sold out race, YabaDabaDooooo! 600+ runners.

So now all we need is volunteers and a lot of them! Below is a Signup Genius link with several areas that need volunteers. Most importantly, we need several shifts at the finish line area, in desperate need of around 4-5 shuttle drivers.

The waterfall aid station is the last full aid station on course and could for sure use more volunteers. A four wheel drive vehicle is necessary to get to this aid station, but if you go up at the start of the race with the other aid station staff you can catch a ride.

Also, I need some help with timers. If anyone has used the Ultra Signup timing app I can use your experience!!!

The Finish Line chute is one of the coolest places you can be on race day. To witness runners coming to the finish, realizing their dream is so awesome. We need finish line volunteers!

And of course the Ultra Lounge is legendary for the last 10 years, run and managed by the amazing Abbey Drake. She needs help. It’s not a bad gig to serve runners relaxing after their finish, with good tunes jamming, even live music Saturday evening. In the shade!

Volunteers also get a volunteer tee shirt, and a bracelet for food truck meals while working.

What? April 28th, it was just April Fools Day seems like yesterday!
Truth is, this is no April Fools joke, TRTER is nearly full and will be shutting down registration and going to a waitlist system within a few days.

I want to sincerely thank the TRTER community with its support of this race. I’m not going to lie, last year was rough only being able to operate the 50K and 23K because of backcountry closures. It was a huge hit to the race well being. I was worried how runners would come back to the oldest running ultra distance race in the Lake Tahoe basin.

This year we’ll be celebrating our 25th Anniversary and the TRTER community of runners have responded in big numbers. A heart felt thank you to you all that have registered and those of you that volunteer or going to volunteer and join the big trail running party above Lake Tahoe July 18-19, 2026!

So, if you want a guaranteed spot in this year’s race, we have 21 spots left in the 100K, 14 remaining in the 50K, 20 more in the 100 mile and 40 left in the 23K. Once those numbers in each race are reached, that race will move to the waitlist system. Then a runner must withdraw from the race before one gets invited in. If you have been waiting to jump in, now’s the time to do it.

TRTER is announcing the 100K is now full!

Just kidding, it’s April fools day! But it’s no joke the 100K is filling up and only about 25 spots available before it goes to a wait list.

There is still plenty of room in the the 100 Mile, the 50K and 23K.

Anyone registering today or until registration closes in June will have the option to add registration protection to cover their registration costs if they cannot make the race or decides not to participate, they can have the registration refunded by the protection coverage.

This is important because we are past the registration refund deadline, so if you are injured, have flight cancellation or delays, have family or job commitments that come up, or life just gets in the way, this is the way to have your registration fee protected. At checkout, you will have the option to add it.

With the light winter snowpack, the Tahoe Rim Trail dirt will be becoming available soon. So the stoke is high. The race registrations are moving along very well. We are planning our great trail running party in the mountains above Lake Tahoe, the Jewel of the Sierra. Come join us!

More big news for the 25th running of the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs!

International Trail Running Association Mountain points (ITRA) will be awarded to finishers of the 100 mile (5points), 100k (4 points), and 50K (3 points). ITRA points are important to those of you looking to register for big races in Europe.

Also, announcing a slight modification to the 100 mile course. After the start and first summit of Snow Valley Peak runners will drop down the Rim Trail to the Spooner Summit trailhead where the aid station will be. Then double back up the rim trail to Snow Valley Peak aid station (bonus aid station) and continue onto the Hobart aid station. In all, more epic panoramic views of the Jewel of the Sierra Lake Tahoe, more vertical! It only adds one mail to the total milage.

There is still plenty of room for you in any of the distances, although the 100K is filling fast. Don’t be left out of the 25th anniversary TRTER!
