The difference between a one-off walk and a recurring walk is the same as the difference between renting and living somewhere. Recurring walks let your dog settle into a rhythm. They know when the sitter is coming. They anticipate the release. Their whole day is structured around it.
Cat families, this applies to you differently. Most cats do not need walks, but they do benefit from recurring drop-in visits during long workdays. The same principle of consistency applies. Consistent care equals a calmer pet.
Comment WALKS if your dog spends six-plus hours alone during the day.
Senior cats and senior dogs often share the same daily reality: medication at set times, consistent routines, and less tolerance for change. If your work schedule means you are missing the window on either end, recurring care is worth considering.
Our medication visits follow your written instructions exactly. Timing, dose, and method are documented with a photo after each administration. Nancy reviews the notes and flags anything unusual. You get to focus on your day knowing the care is handled.
This works the same way for cats as it does for dogs. The difference is pace and approach, and that is what sitter matching is for.
DM us to get your pet medication plan set up with a sitter who can be consistent.

About half of our clients are cat families. The other half are dog families. A lot of our clients are both. We structure visits accordingly and our sitters handle all pets with the same level of care.
A visit to a multi-pet home is structured to respect both animals. Feed the cat first, walk the dog after, document separately, leave the home calm. If you have been worried about finding a sitter who can truly handle both, this is exactly how we’re built to help.
Your cat is shedding just as much as your dog right now. Indoor cats respond to daylight changes, and May is when winter coats come off in earnest. A few minutes of gentle brushing during a sitter visit removes loose undercoat, reduces hairballs, and keeps your home cleaner.
Our sitters offer light brushing for cats and dogs as part of recurring visits. It is not grooming, it is comfort care. Nancy can note your pet’s preferred brush and pressure in the profile so every sitter approaches it the same way.
Save this if shedding is taking over your home, and ask us about brushing add-ons.

Nancy, our Client Care Director, is the person who handles your Meet and Greet, knows your pet preferences, and coordinates every sitter assignment. If something needs to change, she is who makes it happen.
Most pet care services route you through an app. Nancy picks up the phone. That is the difference between VIP Pets and a gig platform. Real relationships, real oversight, real peace of mind.
DM us and we will get your first call on the calendar.

VIP Pets serves residential neighborhoods across Dallas, Austin and the surrounding metro communities. Local sitters in each market mean faster response times, familiar routines, and someone who understands your neighborhood.
If you are outside of our usual coverage area, ask anyway. We occasionally extend for the right client. But if you are in our core footprint, you are exactly who we were built to serve.
Comment your neighborhood and we will confirm how we can help.

Many of our clients have both cats and dogs. It is not a complication for us. It is how we were built. Nancy matches sitters who are confident with both species, and the visit structure is designed around the order that keeps your whole household calm.
About half our client base is cat families. The other half is dog families. A big portion is both. Whatever your mix, our sitters know how to handle it without rushing either pet.
Save this if you have a cat and a dog at home

Cats are not small dogs. They do not adjust well to boarding environments, no matter how clean or well run. The stress of a new space, unfamiliar sounds, and different smells can cause cats to stop eating, stop using the litter box, or simply shut down for the duration of your trip.
In-home visits solve all of that. Your cat stays in the territory they know. Their feeding schedule does not change. Their litter gets maintained. A sitter who knows their preferences does the visit with minimal disruption.
Save this for the next time someone suggests boarding your cat, and DM us to book.

Cat body language is specific. It is also subtle. A sitter who does not know what to look for can accidentally stress your cat in ways you would not even notice until you came home.
Every VIP Pets sitter is trained on feline cues. That matters for our many cat family clients. Your cat should not have to adjust to the sitter. The sitter should adjust to your cat.
Save this for the next time your cat slowly blinks at you, and DM us to set up a visit.

Spring allergies are real for pets. Dogs show it through their skin. Cats show it through grooming changes. Both can get watery eyes and sneezing. Our sitters notice these changes because they see your pet on a consistent schedule and have something to compare against.
We do not diagnose. We do flag. Nancy reviews any notes about changes and will suggest you check in with your vet if something seems off. That extra set of eyes is one of the quiet benefits of recurring care.
Save this for your pet, and tag a friend whose pet is itching this week.
