Did You Know??? — It’s Not Just a Saying
When something “goes haywire,” you’re using a phrase rooted in real farm life. It’s a little piece of agricultural history tucked into everyday conversation. The word “haywire” originally referred to the thin wire farmers used to bind hay bales. It was handy… but it kinked, snapped, and tangled at the worst possible moments. No wonder the word became a nickname for anything that suddenly goes wrong. By the early 1900s, “haywire” had jumped from the farm to everyday language. People began using it to describe anything chaotic — from machinery to moods to Monday mornings.

Did You Know???
Time goes so quickly! I was going through pictures trying to find a certain image (which I still did not find) and came across these two being their normal silly sale barn selves over the years! What sale barn pictures do you have from years past that you can share in the comments?

💡 Did You Know??? – Helping Keep CYA Exchange Running Smoothly
At CYA Exchange, every item on the tables belongs to a consignor who trusted us to sell their goods fairly and accurately. When items are taken without being purchased — whether by accident or intentionally — it affects more than just the sale.
Here’s how missing items impact the Exchange:
Consignors lose income: Each item is part of someone’s hard work. When something goes missing, that consignor doesn’t get paid for it.
It slows down the sale process: Staff must stop to investigate, re-check tables, and adjust paperwork — which delays the flow for everyone.
It affects trust: CYA Exchange works because buyers and sellers trust the process. Keeping items where they belong helps maintain that trust.
We know mistakes happen — truly. If you ever realize you picked up the wrong item or forgot to check out, just let us know. We’re always happy to help make it right.
Together, we can keep the Exchange fair, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for being part of our community 🌾💛
