Hola! Smash Salsa was formed after my husband and I started competing in Texas BBQ. We started realizing that my salsa was turning heads as well.

I grew up in a Mexican American home and started making all kinds of dishes while learning my heritage.

San Sebastian was probably my most favorite city of all time! Everywhere you looked there was something you wanted to take a picture of. People were extremely friendly and it was very safe. And yes, it was just as perfect as the pictures.

My Uncle's Salsa was the first salsa I have ever made. I was hooked from there. ❤️❤️ It was time to go back to the basics.

1 white onion
2 wrinkly jalapenos
Cover with water and boil until soft. Might take 15-20 min.

Place some garlic cloves, Lawry's salt, and garlic powder in a food processor.

Once the boiled veg is soft add them to the processor, with 1/4 bunch of cilantro, some of the jalapeno/onion water, and pulse until evenly reduced but chunky. Add a can of diced tomatoes or Rotel. Pulse until it's to your liking. I added some Lawry's and lime for myself.

*This is not Uncle's recipe but similar.
