Saturday June 6th was our annual training RT130 Wildland Fire Training Day. CalFire sent two Schedule B engines to train with us that included E4681 and E4691. So much learning, excellent mentoring and the best crews we’ve had the pleasure to work alongside.
Excellent day had by all!

Backyard Burn Season begins 12/1/2025 on permissive burn days only for our area.

You must have a Mid Coast Fire Burn Permit to burn within our jurisdiction and follow all conditions as stated on the permit. Acceptance of the permit means you agree to comply with all conditions as stated on your permit before burning.

If you have a burn permit that starts with 2025- # # # then your permit is still valid until April 30, 2027 as our permits are valid for three years.

You must have a valid permit in hand if asked for it. If you need a copy of your permit (it was sent via email) there will be a $20 administrative charge for reissuance of your permit.

Please remember that there are micro climates within our community which means that even though it may not be windy at your house it could be very windy elsewhere in our community. Please check the weather forecast the night before.

Thank you neighbors for your continued support! We raised over $5000 at this year’s BBQ✨ It was such a fun time to get together and catch up. We are so blessed to have so many amazing artisans and crafters in our community that donated their services or art for our raffle! Thank you neighbors for all that you do to keep us going 🚒🔥

Thank you for the fun and games you provided our community as well as your assistance in the set up and break down 🙏🏽 We loved getting to know you and the services that your company offers!

We want to thank the PG&E representative that helped to educate our community about their vegetation management work and the many programs they have available.

It is with a very heavy heart I announce the sudden and unexpected passing of retired firefighter Brent Bispo.
Brent protected the Mid Coast community for many years and along with Brice Hall and Brian Gorrell started Monterey County’s First Official Water Rescue Program.
Brent was the first engineer promoted to Captain and was a natural leader and teacher to many saving the life of a firefighter in a water tender roll over during an out of County response by using the jaws to cut him out.
He will be missed.. his firefighting brother Logan Loader I am sure was there to greet him! Miss you already brother! Aloha Brent!

Well the weather is great as usual. Beach time every day with time for paddling and walks. As you see this was just a bad parking job. The coconut wireless says this is the boat used in 50 1st dates…about to be scrap though cuz it will do damage to the reef to tow it out…sad!
Got a chance to meet with Dr Bridget Bongard here…she is amazing and we poured through all the medical reports to confirm that there was no godly reason for my stroke. It just happened. I feel a weight off my back and got some good good advice that allows me now to let it go and move forward. Happy for that! End of an another beautiful day here on Maui! Waiting for Marylou Young to arrive for some shenanigans.. invited to a wedding… having the time of my life with my bestie Jake GOETZ of course. TTFN….love all you all💋💋
