We just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know we’re safe from the wildfires this evening! Evacuations have been lifted for now. Thank you to everyone that reached out, offered help if needed, and your prayers. They worked! We truly are blessed by having made so many friends throughout the world that love this place as much as we do. Thank you so so much to the first responders and firefighters for keeping everyone safe. Prayers are still needed as several fires are still blazing through the Texas panhandle. God bless!

A big thank you to George Strait, Zach Top, and Miranda Lambert for the business they stirred up over the weekend! 😂 What a beautiful time of year to be on a horse in the canyon.

WARNING!!! Just wanted to make everyone aware. Somebody out there is using our name and address to scam folks into buying horses. We are not a sale barn and a majority of our horses live out their lives with us! Thank you to the kind lady that brought this to our attention. Be careful out there, friends. People are mean and crazy.

Better late than never, but Merry Christmas! The kids had us in a whirlwind of wrapping paper for most of the day and fun was had by all. Blessings to you and your loved ones!

Better late than never! It’s finally turning yellow out here. We love riding through the canyon this time of year

IT’S BACK!!! Spring and summer rains destroyed the trail for our longer ride this year. We’ve been unable to take our hour and a half ride for the last 5 months. After 36 hours of clean up on half a mile of trail, we are very proud to say, we are now offering our extended ride! In our 60+ years of our family riding this canyon, the trails have never looked so good 🥰

Sassy is one of the oldest horses here at The Hideout at Palo Duro Canyon, but let me tell you, she's not sassy at all. We got her from a local rescue organization, and despite being a total sweetheart, she was named Sassy because she came to us swinging - or should I say, neighing. A more fitting name would be Sweet Pea, but we're sticking with Sassy. This old gal's got some serious health issues, including PPID, which is a tumor on her pituitary gland. And if that's not enough, she's also got founder and chronic laminitis - Ouch!, which means we have to watch her diet like a hawk. Just a little sugar and she's limping around like a, well, like a horse with a limp. When you book a stay with us, you're helping to support horses like Sassy, who all have their own special needs. We even have a blind horse on the premises - talk about a special snowflake. So if you book an August stay, be sure to use coupon code HIDEOUT20 for a 20% discount. Our website is Thehideoutatpalodurocanyon.com - go ahead, Google it. We can't wait to see you.
