Hiking through the mist at Chain Lakes Loop on Mt. Baker. We would have had better views without the foggy weather, but this was still a gorgeous forest hike on a cloudy/rainy day. Have you visited Mt. Baker? If not, it's worth the long drive to get out to Artist Point.

"The Big Cave" at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in the panhandle of Texas... we almost skipped this stop, and I'm so glad we didn't. This canyon is supposedly the second largest in the nation, after the Grand Canyon. It had a resemblance to the Grand Canyon without all the tourism.

Always chasing the view... our last trip consisted of repelling off cliffs in Tennessee, because it was finally a sunny and cool day after a bunch of rain. Nice view of the mountains outside of Chattanooga.

Inspired by watching so many Shameless reruns, I created a few maps of Chicago, one of which is showing the Chicago Y transposed over the map. This symbol of Chicago represents the two branches of the Chicago River. This symbol can be seen in some of the architecture in the city. Be on the lookout next time you take a trip to the windy city.

Views from my favorite national park, on one of my favorite trails there ... the trail. This loop was fun and not too long, even on a summer day. Although, watch out for weather! We did get caught in a small storm when we hiked this 4 mile loop. Can't wait to go back to Utah next year.
