Okay stud, chilllllllllll.

Ooh wee, I am emotional editing these senior pictures this year. My own little one is getting ready to start kindergarten in the fall, and here I am photographing young adults stepping into life after their last year of school. It hit me like a ton of bricks.

One day, I will be the mama tearing up over all the lasts. The last home game. The last cheer tryouts. The last prom. The last year with him under my roof, praying I taught him how to navigate life with wisdom, courage, and kindness.

I’ll probably cry in private so I don’t embarrass him, but inwardly I’ll still see my little boy talking to trees and butterflies, running in with the smell of wind in his hair.

I know already I will miss this season so deeply, I’d trade just about anything to sit in these ordinary moments one more time.

So to all the parents trusting me with your seniors, I hope I captured your baby the way you still see them, and maybe even a little more. Because while this feels like an ending, it really isn’t.

It’s one beautiful chapter closing, and another just beginning.
