We were prepared and excited for Bulldog Equestrian “Boot “ Camp next week -with a tropical theme! Bright colors, fun games and prizes, and island themed drinks and snacks were on the agenda. Well, the weather said “ Hold my Sweat Tea” and hit us with tropical-like temperatures, forcing the decision to cancel camp. With the possibility of real-feel temperatures in the mid 90s and above, it’s just not safe or sensible for our athletes and horse partners. We will put this tropical theme to use when we begin our season in August. Stay tuned for exciting changes, new opportunities, and a few fresh faces.

These Bulldog Equestrians supported their peers at the Bulldog Games, today. Thank you, Sarah Betz, for including them in this amazing day!

It seems like forever since we’ve saddled up, but summer “Boot Camp” planning is under way! Excited to begin our preparation for our first full year of competition! 🤠

Here’s an invitation to a “ behind the scenes” look at how Bulldog Equestrians enjoy their time together!

Charlie rounds out the middle school equestrians! As our smallest competitor, she loves to ride the biggest horses! During her very first session, she wanted to know when we could “gallop “ outside. 😅 Charlie attended every lesson until a foot injury side lined her a few weeks ago. ( injury was not horse related) She is full of life and laughter, and spreads light everywhere she goes. All of the barn animals love her, and so do all of her teammates! We hope Charlie has a speedy recovery and is back with us for all of our summer exploits. She will be a force to be reckoned with in the show arena!

Xavier is also a 7th grade member of the Bulldog Equestrians. His love for horses and dirt is unmatched. ( FYI-arena footing/dirt is very important in the equestrian world). If you can’t find him at the horse show, he’s somewhere petting, feeding, or hugging a horse. Xavier looks at home in the saddle, like he was a cowboy in a previous life. Xavier won the hearts of so many at his first show. He was a joy to be around and displayed never ending enthusiasm for the opportunity. He’s FUN, sweet, and hard - working. He also received a sportsmanship award at his first competition, being recognized for his hard work and his ability to communicate with fellow competitors, coaches and adults. His genuine enthusiasm for everything equine is refreshing and endearing. Xavier also shares his time with sports and the Aademic Challenge team. He was only able to attend one show this season, but we have big plans for him in the fall! We are thankful for you, Xavier!

Damon started with the Bulldog Equestrians this spring. I don’t think he’s missed a single lesson! Damon doesn’t forget anything. Not a pattern, not a rule, not anything anyone tells him about horses. His favorite horse is Hope. He speaks to her so kindly and always thanks her for a good ride. Damon got a sportsmanship award at his first show. He had so many compliments from coaches and trainers that had never met him before. He worked so hard that I was afraid he wouldn’t even be able to get up the next morning. But he did! He held horses, worked the gate, cheered for everyone, and has the best attitude anyone could ask for! Damon is only in the seventh grade. He has a long period of time to be a Bulldog Equestrian and we can’t wait to see what he will do in the arena next year. My prediction is that he will be unstoppable in his pattern classes! Damon is an integral part of the Bulldog Equestrians, and we are so glad he chooses to spend time with us!

Taija has been part of the Bulldog Equestrian program since last spring. She was so excited about the opportunity to compete and made a big splash in her first competition this year by placing third her very first time in the ring! She has a strong desire to be the best at everything she does! She is considerate and kind to everyone. She’s the first person to offer a hug or pat on the back if she thinks you’re having a bad day. Taija deserves to be recognized not only for her horsemanship skills, but her good character! Taija loves all of the animals at the barn. She wants to be a vet someday and would consider riding in college. We think both of those things will happen for her, and we are all here to support her along the journey! I’m so glad that she still has her senior year to spend with us as a Bulldog Equestrian! Thank you for always putting a smile on everyone’s face, Taija! ❤️❤️❤️🖤🖤🖤🐶🐶🐶🐴🐴🐴

Liberty has been an absolute dream addition to the Bulldog Equestrian program! Liberty also shares her talents with multiple programs and sports at Early College High School, but I’m certainly glad she continues to show up for lessons and competitions. She is determined to grow her horsemanship skills and shows tremendous talent and potential in this area. Liberty is gracious, kind, and fun- loving. She has the best ideas and is very creative in so many ways. She is always the first one to think of others and thank her coaches and volunteers at the barn. Liberty has the ability to go far in this program and achieve great success. I’m always thankful that she will read things to me when I forget my glasses, help me with social media, and assist me in keeping her teammates together in one spot when I fail at that. ( I promise you that is the most difficult thing about the program. 😅😂) She shows great leadership skills and success is in her future no matter which direction she goes. We love you, Liberty! ❤️🐴🙌
