Every community has stories. Some are written in books. Others are painted on walls.

Last week, a new downtown Canton mural celebrating America's 250th anniversary was installed. Attendees were invited to complete the mural on-site!

Created by artist Scot Phillips through the Stark Stories grant program—a partnership between ArtsinStark and Visit Canton—the mural honors the workers, leaders, and cultures that built our community. Look closely and you'll find steelworkers, Jim Thorpe, Ida Saxton McKinley, President William McKinley, and a Wyandot Native American, each representing a piece of our shared history.

And here's the remarkable part: every image is made up of thousands of individually hand-painted dots. Step back to see the larger story. Step closer to appreciate the incredible detail.

📸 Don't forget to snap a photo! The "O" in Canton was intentionally designed as the perfect photo opportunity.
