Cost: $110 total per controller (before tax)

Includes: Replacement of both joystick modules

Most unlucky minor soda spill covers and shorts half of this itty bitty PWM IC with corn syrup causing boot failure. You can see the puddle in the before image covering those pins. After cleanup; All systems go!

Component repair is my secret passion—a zen-like escape from my day job. While most shops push pricey board replacements, I dive in to fix what others won’t, especially for rare gear with no parts left in the wild. Take this laptop: a shorted MOSFET at the gate’s killing the battery charge. For $120, it’s not worth it to the customer, but if they’d greenlight it, I’d swap that sucker out in a heartbeat—two weeks’ wait for the part notwithstanding—and juice it back to life. My hobby, their win.

I had a PS2 come in yesterday for repair. Blast from the past! I used to buy those broken on eBay and repair and resell them. That was 20 years ago! My age is showing but I truly enjoyed having the opportunity to again crack one of those open! :)

LTS Security systems have allowed me access to their support system if you need assistance. Locally I don't believe there are any LTS techs to help with password resets and hardware problems.

Passwords: Always use a unique password for your email! If you register accounts on other sites (ex. Home Depot, etc.) and use the same password, I would expect them to be hacked at some point and then your email gets hacked. They will get all of your inbox/outbox messages and mess with you and your contacts worse than you know.
