For just over a year, our U12 Elite won every game they played across all competitions — a run built on hard work, growth, and a commitment to getting better every day. 💚🖤💛

This week, they traveled to take on Columbus Crew Academy in a preseason matchup to prepare for our upcoming USL Youth season. The result was our first loss in over a year, with Crew Academy earning a hard fought 3-2 victory in a game that was tight from start to finish.

If we’re gonna lose, we’re glad it was against such a high-level opponent. Crew Academy showed our players the level of soccer IQ, decision-making, and intensity that can be reached at this age.

A weekday noon kickoff isn’t always easy for parents to make, but the quality of the match made it well worth the time taken off work to come support these players👏.

We’re looking forward to starting our winning streak back up this summer in USL Youth and continuing to push this group forward. We’ll be looking for a rematch in a few months when Crew Academy is back in season!

With two penalties and a red card impacting the match, Lightning’s lone goal wasn’t enough to secure a result against Leal United.

The boys battled through adversity and will look to bounce back as they prepare for a rematch against Leal this Sunday. 👊⚡️

One of our own soccer moms, Jennifer Collier-Nelson, is currently battling cancer, and we are asking our soccer community to come together to support her and her family during this fight.

A Cancer Benefit Dinner will be held on July 11th from 5PM–8PM at Louisville Eagles with food, drinks, raffle baskets, and a 50/50 raffle. We would love to see as many members of our community there as possible to show Jennifer that she is not fighting alone.

Our USL Youth season officially kicks off next week, and we’re excited to prepare with preseason scrimmages against multiple Columbus Crew Academy age groups.

These opportunities provide our players with valuable exposure to one of the highest levels of youth soccer in the nation, helping them prepare for the challenges ahead this summer and throughout their future playing careers. We’re grateful for the commitment of our players, families, and staff and look forward to continuing to create opportunities through our player development pathway.

Our men’s team fell 3-2 at home in a hard-fought battle against the undefeated Ohio/Indy South Conference Champions from last spring. The boys showed tremendous fight throughout the match, taking the lead twice before a late penalty kick proved to be the final blow.

The captain was finally moved back into an attacking role and made the most of the opportunity, scoring two class goals to put Lightning ahead on both occasions. His leadership and quality in front of goal kept the boys battling until the final whistle.
