Delayed Openings: This is the only post we will utilize to communicate delayed opening of government offices or services.

Cherokee County Schools: All start times are delayed by exactly 2 hours, and all bus stop pick-up locations will be delayed by 2 hours. Check Cherokee County GA School District pages for updates.

Cherokee County Aquatic Center: Delayed until 10:00 a.m.

CATS Cherokee County: DHS routes canceled. All other CATS services are now running as normal.

Several entities are announcing closures ahead of the winter weather expected. This post will be pinned throughout the winter weather event for this weekend. Please refer to this post for any government office closures reported to Emergency Management.

CATS Transit Services will be suspended for Monday, Jan. 26. CATS follows the Cherokee County School District closures for transit suspensions and the DHS closures for Empower Cherokee and Senior Center transit suspensions. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay warm and stay safe.

All Cherokee County government offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

🚌 SERVICE UPDATE: CATS will be closed this coming Monday, January 19, 2026.
Regular transit services will resume on Tuesday, January 20th. We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend!

Transportation will not be running tomorrow. We will resume transportation on Friday.

Cherokee County government offices will be closed Thursday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year's Day. Offices will reopen on Friday, Jan. 2 at their normal hours.
