Part 2

Man was that fun!!! Safety town 2026 was a huge success. Roughly 30 kids who are getting ready to start kindergarten for 4 days and they learned sooo much.

We got to tour:
an ambulance 🚑
a firetruck 🚒
a school bus 🚌
and a cop car 🚔

We learned about fire safety and burn prevention, stranger danger and dog safety, and how and when to call 911.

We learned why booster seats and bike helmets are so important, and everyone got to take home their own brand new bike helmets.

We also learned how to be safe around the water, how to avoid choking and suffocation risks, and about poison and medication safety.

These little troopers asked so many amazing questions and soaked up so much information and we are so proud of them all.

Thank you to church for hosting us and for all of their volunteers who lended a hand.

Thank you to captain Gary for helping organize this event every year and the whole North Canton crew that came to visit during this time.

And a huge shout out to the parents for trusting us with your kids for a week and for making sure they were all so prepared to come in and learn every day.

Can't wait til next year.

North Canton!!!

We want to say thank you to everyone who came out to our 4th of July parade to help celebrate America's 250th.

We set a goal of raising 1776 lbs of food for the Stark County Hunger Task Force and we asked for our community to support us and boy did you all show up!

Between physical donations and monetary donations we raised 5742lbs of food to help our neighbors in need!!! That's nothing short of amazing y'all!!

Keep an eye out for other Stark Community Jaycees events. And if you're interested in getting involved reach out, we would love to have you on our team!

Did you see the flyover during the 4th of July Parade this year? Those planes were graciously brought to the parade route by the T-34 Association and Castle Aviation. The T-34 Association is a registered 501c3, public charity. As such, they are tax exempt and donors can deduct contributions made to the T-34 Association. If you would like to support their group, information can be found and donations made at https://t-34.com/ .

This morning our Community Development VP Sara Tiffany Gidley and Stephanie Sweany, the Executive Director of Stark County Hunger Task Force (and past Jaycee), went on the air with Matt Fantone at MIX 94.1 to talk about the July 4th Parade in North Canton and food donation drive! Thanks again to Matt, WHBC, and Mix 94.1 for having us on! We can't wait to see your new float unveiled at the parade!

We recently had some questions about the 4th of July Parade route. It is the same route as last year. We will start at Faith United Methodist Church at 300 9th St. We will turn right onto Main Street headed south. We will continue down Main Street until we turn right onto Harmon. We follow Harmon until Park Circle where the parade ends near Witwer park and middle school parking lot. Anything North of 5th Street will not have sirens or horns for those people who prefer a quieter parade. We hope to see you on the 4th of July! The parade steps off at 10:30!

Our country is turning 250 years old this year and we'd like to celebrate while giving back to those in need. Partnered with the Stark County Hunger Task Force we'd like to collect 1776 pounds of non perishable food items.
Most needed items asked for by the Task Force are:
- peanut butter
- canned fruit
- cereal
- soups
- oatmeal packets
- microwave Mac and cheese
- fruit snacks
- cup o'noodles
These items can be dropped off the whole week before the parade to collection boxes located at:
- City Hall
- North Canton Library
- North Canton YMCA
You can also bring your donations with you to the parade. There will be donation boxes located at:
- City Hall
- Near the DJ booth at the YMCA
There will also be volunteers collecting donations during the parade from those who still have them on hand.
Don't want to carry around food goods while juggling kids and 4th of July fun?
Monetary donations can be made at

https://secure.givelively.org/donate/stark-county-hunger-task-force/stark-community-jaycees-4th-of-july-parade

Every $1 donated = 7lbs of food towards our goal.
We're counting on our community support to make this happen.
