Offense Hard To Come By In Canton Varsity Eagles Defeat To Lindale

Both teams were strong on the hill on Friday, but Lindale was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over Canton Varsity Eagles. Brody Lewis started the game for Canton Varsity Eagles and recorded 21 outs.
Canton Varsity Eagles lost despite out-hitting Lindale five to four. Marco Chavez led Canton Varsity Eagles with two hits.
Lindale got on the board in the third inning after Hudson Harry singled, scoring one run.
Chavez singled to center field, which helped Canton Varsity Eagles tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth.
Lindale took the lead in the top of the ninth. Truett Richardson tripled, scoring one run, to give Lindale the leg up, 2-1.
Lewis started on the bump for Canton Varsity Eagles. The lefty allowed three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. Jackson Parker started on the hill for Lindale. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out 10 and walking none.
Chavez led Canton Varsity Eagles with one run batted in. The leadoff hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Canton Varsity Eagles were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Luke Jackson made the most plays with 11.
Richardson and Harry each drove in one run for Lindale. Kaden Adams went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lindale in hits.
Next up for Canton Varsity Eagles is a game at Wills Point on Saturday.

Bottom Of The Lineup Carries Canton Varsity Eagles Past North Forney Varsity Falcons

The bottom of the lineup helped Canton Varsity Eagles capture a 5-2 victory over North Forney Varsity Falcons on Thursday at Canton. Kason Higgins, Dane Vanhoozer, and Cameron Miklis combined for four of the team's seven hits in the victory. They scored three runs and drove in two.
Canton Varsity Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Vanhoozer singled to the left side of the infield, Miklis singled to left field, AJ Reese walked, and Judson D**e walked, each scoring one run.
D**e started on the mound for Canton Varsity Eagles. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Trey Hannigan began the game for North Forney Varsity Falcons. The pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Reese pitched two innings of no-run ball for Canton Varsity Eagles in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking two.
D**e drove the middle of the lineup, leading Canton Varsity Eagles with two runs batted in. Luke Jackson and Vanhoozer each collected two hits for Canton Varsity Eagles.
Jayden Felts, Brady Andrews, and Lane Hall each collected one hit for North Forney Varsity Falcons. Matthew Calderon led the team with one run batted in. North Forney Varsity Falcons stole four bases in the game.
Canton Varsity Eagles will travel to Lindale for their next game on Tuesday.
