CEA is proud to announce that our members have ratified a new contract! The MOU moves to School Committee tonight for their vote. We are looking forward to beginning the 2025-2026 school year with a new 3 year contract.

Negotiations Update, May 28:

CEA made a counterproposal on salary which represented significant movement. Compared to CEA's April 30 economic proposal, year 1 of tonight's CEA proposal costs approximately $1.4 million less, and the overall proposal costs approximately $4.2 million less. The district also provided a counter proposal on salary.

Both CEA and the district also provided responses on other proposals, with topics including course reimbursement, nurses, class and caseload sizes, and reduction in force.

We have two bargaining sessions scheduled before the end of the school year: June 9 and June 16

CEA members rallied before negotiations on Wednesday to support our bargaining priorities and our negotiations team!

Negotiations Update for May 14:
The CEA Negotiations Team met with the District Negotiations Team on Wednesday, May 14. CEA presented a comprehensive counter proposal on Health and Safety, along with some other responses. The District provided some responses to CEA as well. Some areas of agreement were found, however there are multiple major issues still under negotiation including economics, class sizes and caseloads, and leave. In a team meeting after the session, multiple team members and silent bargaining representatives shared that they felt discouraged, because the importance of the outstanding issues outweigh the tentative agreements we have at this time. Our next bargaining session is Wednesday, May 28.
