Woven Words is an independently woman-owned bookshop and community craft space in Bath, OH dedicated to bringing people together through stories and creativity.

They offer new and used books, unique and high-quality craft kits, and host welcoming book events and craft nights for everyone—no artistic experience required.

Their hope is to create a space where conversations flow, friendships form, and joy is sparked by what we read and make together.

Because just like a tapestry, the books we love, the crafts we create, and the people we meet all become beautifully woven into the story of our lives.

We’re excited to announce that Rachel Peterson, author of the YA thriller Killing Sadie (ages 14+), will be giving us an author reading at our upcoming book fair! Killing Sadie was just released on August 4 with Simon & Schuster!
Killing Sadie is a twisty tale filled with unreliable narrators and shocking secrets. After homecoming queen Sadie Cooper and loner Mason Vreeland are found murdered at an Ohio barn party gone wrong, the three people closest to Sadie: her best friend Liz, boyfriend Ben, and twin sister Jayne, are questioned by the police. It seems like an open and shut case, but the deeper you go, the darker it gets. Turns out someone had a long list of reasons for killing Sadie.
Rachel Peterson graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in English and Creative Writing. After starting her career as a copywriter, she made the shift to the technology space and spent nearly a decade in New York City leading marketing teams for international tech companies before stepping away from the corporate world and focusing full-time on her career as an author. Rachel now splits her time between NYC and the Midwest, where she lives with her husband Ken, their dog Olive, and horse Hope.

An avid equestrian, Rachel spends her free time on horseback honing her dressage skills, and is always happy to bury herself in a good book – especially when paired with a great cup of coffee (or a glass of w**e).

📚 June Book Club 📚

The Rainfall Market by You Yeoung-Gwang

📍Studio 208 | Canton, OH
🗓️June 3 | doors at 6:30; discussion at 7:00

Book review from Medium (2025):

The Rainfall Market by You Yeong-Gwang is a whimsical and emotionally rich novel that blends Korean folklore with contemporary themes of self-discovery and healing. Originally written in Korean and translated into English by Slin Jung, the story follows Serin, a high school student weighed down by personal tragedies—her father’s death, her sister’s disappearance, and the struggles of poverty. After sending a heartfelt letter about her misfortunes, she receives a mysterious ticket to the Rainfall Market, a magical place that appears only during the rainy season. There, accompanied by Issha, a shape-shifting cat-spirit, Serin explores enchanted shops run by Dokkaebi (mythical Korean goblins), each offering glimpses into lives she could live. But she must choose a new life within a week—or risk being trapped in the market forever.
