Ohio's annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday returns August 7–9, reverting to its traditional three-day format after expanded holidays in recent years.

During the holiday, qualifying clothing priced at $75 or less per item and eligible school supplies and instructional materials priced at $20 or less per item will be exempt from Ohio sales tax.

Meet Packer Thomas Associate, Ron Lame! Ron started with the firm as an intern in January 2025 and joined the team full-time in January 2026. He earned his accounting degree from Youngstown State University and is currently working toward obtaining his CPA license. When asked who inspires him most, he shared that his parents have always been his biggest inspiration. His favorite quote is: “Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.” — Marcus Aurelius.

Ron says one of the things he enjoys most about working at Packer Thomas is the supportive environment. He appreciates that everyone is willing to answer questions, share their knowledge, and help each other succeed, creating a real sense of camaraderie throughout the firm. Outside of work, Ron is a big fan of Ohio sports, especially Ohio State and the Cincinnati Bengals. He also loves music and enjoys collecting vinyl records.
