most important missions of this department is public education / fire prevention activities that we provide to the local schools and day care centers. If safety can be learned starting at an early age, then it will stay with our children through their adult lives. As they say, "an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure." The Camdenton Fire Department is operated by a group of dedicated volunteers who are supported by three full time paid personnel (1 - Fire Marshal, 1 - Captain and 1 - Firefighter/EMT). We are constantly looking for more civic minded individuals that are willing to go through the training necessary to provide this service to our community. If you are ever in the area, please feel welcome to stop by and look our department over. CFD is also a member of Lake Area Emergency Service Association (LAESA). This is an organization of the emergency departments from around the lake that have come together to use their collective knowledge to facilitate better training, purchasing, and cooperative responses to major incidents.
