Welcome to June! Here's a sneak peak at what this month's astrology has in store - a couple of big shifts and a whole lot of Mercury retrograde 💫

Mercury swims into Cancer this morning, time to get the tissues ready! Why? Because everything is moody in Cancer so a good cry is absolutely on the agenda. Why else? Because Mercury will retrograde here, meaning we're stuck with this planet/sign combo until August 9th. Seriously. Let's unpack: Cancer is the first of the three water signs - the most primitive expression of emotion and intuition. On the wheel, it represents early childhood, that time in life when your home and immediate family are your whole world, and the psychological condition of your primary caretakers is all-important. If you have a good experience here, you'll likely be set up for a smooth transition into adulthood. If not, you'll have a lot of emotional reverse engineering to do when you get older. Mercury through Cancer gives a voice to this part of your life experience. It puts language around feelings, and can therefore mark a time when we find it easier to speak our emotional truth. Mercury will make it all the way to 26 degrees of Cancer before he turns retrograde on June 29th. He will then backtrack down to 16 degrees, turning direct again on July 23rd. Do you have any points or planets within that 10 degree span? If so, pay attention. The next couple of months will bring an important message from your inner child.

I know, I've been MIA. I promise, it's not because I'm going through a social media meltdown this time, the sky has genuinely been quiet for almost two weeks now! But that ends today - we are gifted with an expansive Sagittarius Full Moon early this morning (444 anyone?), just in time to close out the coldest, wettest month of May I can remember.

Sag is a sign that is ruled by Jupiter, and it seeks truth and freedom at all costs. Since Full Moons are about release and endings, this lunation could mark the culmination of a long journey, a tough learning process or quest for knowledge. You can trust that whatever you've seen at this point is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So if you are called to act under this Full Moon, you can do so with confidence - you've got the whole picture. But do take some time to reflect on what you've learned, because Sag is also a sign that rules our overall belief systems. And it is often the case that we espouse beliefs that aren't really ours. Maybe they were imprinted by our caregivers, maybe society pressures us to hold them out as our own, or maybe the school of hard knocks instilled them when we were young; whatever the case, we should always be on the lookout for our own inauthenticity. Belief systems aren't supposed to remain static throughout your life. We are meant to constantly evaluate them against our current reality, and update them accordingly. If you've learned something recently that cuts against a long-held belief, ask yourself whether it's time to release that belief in light of what you now know?
