— It’s no secret that we love cooking and food! Between virtual cooking classes with local organizations and HOLA employees sharing their favorite recipes, we have learned how to make: Torta de Frango from Brazil; Sopes and Taquitos, two traditional Mexican dishes; Pupusas, a traditional El Salvadorian dish; and Pan Tumaca from Spain.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, swipe to see some of our favorite food moments with HOLA from this past year.
In celebration of , we’re admiring a few of the amazing mini arcade games that high school students created this summer in our Microsoft NERD high school virtual summer coding camp! 🎮
The students developed their own games using Microsoft MakeCode’s block coding environment. We love getting to see their creativity come to life!

In July, we were thrilled to welcome Microsoft AI Development Acceleration Program (MAIDAP)’s 5th cohort to Boston!
MAIDAP is a 2-year multi-disciplinary program that offers recent BS, MS, and PhD graduates the opportunity to collaborate with product groups across Microsoft by providing AI as a service in solving some of our most exciting and challenging AI problems.
And in between working hard and gaining valuable early-in-career experience, there was time for fun, too: Our cohort had a great time exploring the city with Boston Duck Tours! 🦆
Recently, we were pleased to welcome back David Nemer, Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies and in the Latin American Studies program at the University of Virginia, for a second conversation about the ways technology is used by oppressed communities in the Brazilian favelas.
In this follow-up hybrid event, Professor Nemer shared more of his findings about the impact of technology on oppressed communities while we continue listening, learning, and discussing our roles as leaders in technology.
