Fresh off the buzz of Femme Fete! We wanted to highlight one of the outstanding winemakers in attendance.
Judith Beck is a legend in the Austrian winemaking scene. She biodynamically farms 13 hectares of vines in northern Burgenland. In the cellar, minimal intervention is the name of her game. Everything is hand harvested, unfined/unfiltered and minimal sulphur (if any) at bottling.
We’ll be pouring her Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) a lively, crisp, white that goes down so easily, as well as her “Ink” a blend of Zweigelt & St Laurent that bursts with dark berry notes and velvety texture.
We’ll have Trois Lait to pair. A mixed milk tomme style cheese from the French Pyrenees. A style that appeals to all but can go overlooked at times. Its rich texture and tangy, nuttiness plays well with both wines.
As always the tasting runs from 4-6pm every Thursday! Stop by tomorrow for a sip & snack!

WINE & CHEESE TASTING!!!
🍷🧀🫕🪤🍷
For this week’s pairing we’re pouring the 2024 Weingut Pranzegg ‘Vino Rosso Leggero’. A blend of Schiava & Lagrein hailing from steep, sloping vineyards in Bolzano, Italy. This biodynamic red is light-bodied, vibrant, and juicy, bursting with notes of red and black berries with hints of rocky earthiness on the finish.
On the cheesy side of things, welcome back Sangles Sparrenschors! This artisan Dutch cheese has been a favorite at the Kendall shop since GM Jeremy discovered it while in Amsterdam. Made with milk from Montbeliarde cows, wheels are lightly washed and bound in spruce bark. We often find aromas of meat, alliums, and forest floor; the perfect contrast to the brighter fruitiness of the Pranzegg!
We hope you’ll swing by tomorrow evening for a chance to try the combo! As per usual 4-6pm here at FK Kendall!!

We’ll be welcoming back our friend, Kosta Chernikov, owner and purveyor of Saperavi Brothes Wine Merchants. Kosta and his team specialize in the curation and importation of small scale, fine wines from the Republic of Georgia.
🍇🇬🇪🍷
He’ll be here pouring and chatting about three of the wines he represents! This is not a tasting you’ll want to miss, not only are the wines PHENOMENAL, but Kosta is a veritable treasure trove of knowledge concerning all things Georgia and wine! Be sure to pick his brain!
As always we kick off around 4pm and will wrap around 6ish. CHEERS! 🥂

We hope you’re warm and shoveled out!
If you find yourselves needing to replenish the wine rack, come visit us tomorrow evening for another edition of Wine & Cheese of the week!
This week we’re pouring a sturdy wintertime favorite, Clos Siguier Cahors. This sumptuous French Malbec is just the thing to fortify you against the near zero temps. Brimming with dark plum, spice, earthiness and backed with sturdy tannin this is classic stuff!
To nibble on the side we paired with Dulses! This Gouda-esque, Belgian cheese is dotted with smoked, sweet red seaweed. A bit unusual we know, but trust us it works! The richness of the cheese coupled with the savory meatiness of the smoked kelp snuggles up well with the heft of the Siguier!!
We’ll be pouring from 4-6pm! Stop by for a visit!!

January doldrums gotcha down?
Yearning for warmer waters, say the Mediterranean in summer perhaps??
Fret not friends, join Justin tomorrow (4-6pm) transport yourself to sunny, coastal Liguria with this week’s Wine & Cheese combo!!
We bring you not one, but TWO stunning wines this week. To start the Cantina Boriassi, “Linàro”, Coli di Luni Vermentino. Lush & lively with hints of peach and sea salt, she invokes vernal farmers markets. To follow we have Selvadolce’s “Crescendo”, Pigato! A star on our shelves she gleams with notes of cucumber, pineapple, light florality with balanced, creamy texture and zippy acidity. A stroll down the Ligurian seaside.
On the snacking side we bring one of our most irresistible Italian cheeses, Cremolo di Bufala! Ooey, gooey and oh so creamy this soft ripened Buffalo milk cheese is always a winner! Pairing perfectly with zippy and bright wines, the cheese works so well with various flavors. Finally, no “trip” to Liguria would be complete without Pesto Genoese. This traditional condimento is universally loved, but finding the real thing outside of Italy can be tricky. We’ve been lucky to work with and import one of the best, Rossi 1947 FRESH pesto. Never heated, this is the true expression of a Genoese summer! We’re sure you’ll fall head over heels for it!
So what are you waiting for? Come leave your hearts in Portofino without leaving our little Cambridge shop!

!!!Wine & Cheese of the Week!!!
Stop by tomorrow (and every Thursday) between 4-6pm to taste some killer wine and sublime cheeses!
Tomorrow we’ll pop the cork on Fatalone, ‘Teres’, Primitivo! A juicy and approachable expression of Puglian red, this bottle is made with highly coveted “free run juice”, pulled from the grapes by the shear weight of their neighboring bunches. This results in a lighter extraction, less tannin and more lively fresh fruit character. All signs of a cheese friendly wine!
On the cheesy side of things, we’ve chosen Le Bemontois! This hunk of a cheese comes all the way from Switzerland. In true alpine fashion, Bemontois is full flavored with nutty, slightly meaty notes underscored with hints of chive. The savoriness harmonizes beautifully with the juicy expression of the Primitivo!
Stop by for yourselves and let us know what you think!
CHEERS!!

Happy New Year Friends!!
The FKK wine team hopes you enjoyed your fare shares of bubbly over the past few weeks! If you didn’t get the chance, don’t worry we’ve still got you covered.
But this week, for wine and cheese of the week we’ve chosen to highlight a new addition to the wine shelf (new year, new wine).
Introducing, Michael Gindl’s “Michi’s Farm” Orange. Michael is a naturalist wine maker in Austria. He makes phenomenal wines from his own vineyards, but, the “Michi’s Farm” line utilizes organic fruit from small neighboring farms. The orange is a zesty and aromatic blend of Grüner Veltliner, Gelber Muskateller, and Riesling! The wine is expressive and truly joyful!
We’re choosing to pair Michi’s Farm with Pioda Santa Maria a washed rind, goat’s milk cheese from Italy. Santa Maria’s tang and funky side play really nicely against the fruity herbal undertones in the wine.
Tasting kicks off around 4 and wraps at 6pm tomorrow, Thursday 1/8! We’ll see you then!!

This time on “Wine & Cheese of the Week”…
Introducing Oliver Weingartner’s “Harsch”. A phenomenal skin contact white wine from the Somló region of Hungary. Made entirely of the indigenous Hárslevelű grape, the Harsch really exemplifies Hungarian terroir. The wine is complex with notes or fresh orchard fruit and sea salt, followed by slightly oxidative, hazelnut tones as the wine opens. Enticing and gustatory, a perfect foray into Hungarian wine for the uninitiated and a refreshing take for those more familiar with richer styles.
To pair we’ve opted for Le Fortin! This rare Swiss specimen from the Fribourg canton is a seasonal favorite. Richly textured, Le Fortin strikes the perfect balance between grassy sweetness and rich nutty intensity. Perfect for any discerning fan of alpine cheeses!!
As always the tasting will kick off Thursday (12/18) evening (4-6pm)! We can’t wait to see all your smiling faces!!
