Stop of closure of the Inman Sq. PO. It is scheduled to close at tne end of Jan 2012-if the Postal Administration is not stopped.

The people of Inman Square in both Cambridge and Somerville, MA desperately need this PO.

The P.O. is there. It's important in these times to keep your eyes open about it though.

The P.O. is alive and well as of this moment, but you never know with the Fed's. Stay tuned.

Right now the PO remains open. If you live in the Inman Square area keep this page. And keep your eyes open about the PO. Thanks, T

I just want to update people on this page: It still exists because the Postmistress General of Cambridge cannot be trusted to tell the truth about keeping open the Post Offices. As of this date though, people put up such a stink about losing the Inman Sq. Post Office that it will remain open. Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good news is that the Inman Square Post Office is NOT on the closure list this time for Post Offices in this area. The bad news: People will have to remain vigilant about checking closure lists. There are several Mail Processing Plants that might close. Please check out a posting I just put up about it on Facebook. Thanks Trudi

Fate of Inman Square post office to be decided in May 01/10/2012

Here's The Cambridge Chronicle's new article on the fate of The Inman Sq. Post Office: http://www.wickedlocal.com/cambridge/news/x1015657937/Fate-of-Inman-Square-post-office-to-be-decided-in-May

Fate of Inman Square post office to be decided in May Time may be running out for the Inman Square post office in Cambridge and thousands of others throughout the country. After years of dwindling business, partly thanks to the convenience of email, the United States Post office is looking to shed some overhead and close some locations.

The deadline has now past for the closing of the Postal Administraton "Study" of the feasability of the continuation of The Inman Sq. Post Office. When I hear something I will let you know. I gave out conservative estimate 200 surveys and over 200 flyers. Let's see if it helps.

I am off to leaflet. This is the last day. I am down to 24 surveys and 27 flyers. I hope this all makes a difference. Some days it was like pulling teeth just to get people to look at the flyers. Oy. Happy Early New Years!!!!!!!!!! Troods

It's going to be a beautiful weekend. Come and leaflet with me in Inman Square Saturday afternoon or sometime on Sunday. I am very entertaining and I have great stories to tell about working with movie stars. 617-492-0526

There is a story up on wgbhradio.org that states that the Post Office Closing have been delayed until Mid May. Here is the real scoop on this:

This is NOT NEW. The Postal Administration is just spinning the news. They will collect data including surveys up until DEC 29th, then they will close the study on JAN 11th. Then they will make a decision MID MAY. People should not be fooled by this shell game. There is a long way to go to keep the Inman Sq and MIT Post Offices open. The Postal Administration is just trying to avoid any opposition by telling people this MISINFORMATION. If you live in the Inman Square area or at MIT... This is NOT A DONE DEAL. You will have to fight to keep the Post Offices open in your area. Send a letter to Michael Foley the Discontinuance Coordinator at USPS at: 25 Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA 02205. Tell him why we need these Post Offices in Cambridge, MA. Do it BEFORE DEC 29th. Trudi Goodman
