Pride Month Feature ✨ 🎉 ❤️ * 🏳️🌈 🥳 💫: The Real Chai is a Boston-based craft beverage brand devoted to the art of authentic, slow-brewed masala chai. While the modern market is saturated with sugary syrups, powders, and generic concentrates, we honor the traditional methods passed down through generations in Indian homes. Operating out of the Commonwealth Kitchen in Dorchester, we freshly brew our masala chai and hand-blend our dry artisan packets using premium Assam black tea leaves and whole organic spices. Grounded in Ayurvedic wellness principles, our chai delivers clean energy and bold, spice-forward flavor with absolutely no shortcuts. We are currently serving our freshly brewed masala chai and artisanal blends at local farmers' markets, neighborhood events, and through community catering.
Our brand tagline is "Live Your Reality," and to us, Pride is the ultimate celebration of that philosophy. Pride means being bold, vibrant, and unapologetically real. In a world that often pushes people to dilute their identity or take shortcuts to blend in, Pride is a reminder to stand firmly in your true flavor. Just like a proper cup of slow-brewed chai, living your truth requires patience, intention, and a refusal to compromise on authenticity. We believe in celebrating heritage, community, and the freedom for everyone to live their absolute truth.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🍎🥕🌽🥦🫐 This month we celebrate Pride with our many q***r siblings across the state and throughout local foods. Pride parades commemorate resistance to violent erasure through both celebration and protest. It celebrates progress and defies threats of backsliding.
The LGBTQIA+ family includes farmers, food makers, fisherfolk, restaurateurs, distributors, the variety of roles that make our local food happen, business owners and employees, and customers and partners.
We are seeing in many parts of the country a rise again in hate-driven backlash and legislative policing—particularly targeting transgender people. Q***r economic inclusion needs to go deeper than the rainbow branding.
Here at the Boston Local Food Program, we celebrate the rainbow of diversity around us all year round. Through working with small businesses, with our own staff and families, we appreciate all that the Pride movement has done for everyone, and we are grateful for the opportunity to uplift the LGBTQIA+ business owners in our network every month of the year. May you feel the joy and radical love that makes Pride Month special all year round.
